That's not true at all. Ethnic Russians are relatively tall. Slavics and Baltics in general are just about as tall as Germanic groups (taller than germans actually). The only difference is Russia has a lot of turkic, mongol groups who bring their average down. On the contrary Americans see Germans as stereotypically super tall in the vain of the Dutch, but Germany actually has the same measured average as America, they're 5'9". But Slavs are generally tall, it's one of the reasons they and the baltic countries dominate the fashion industry more than any other groups. Including my own. This goes for the Balkan slavs too, the average Balkan is like a giant in Italy, Spain or France. The actual smallest people in europe. Anyway Russia 24 year olds were measured at 5'10" back in 2004. Since then new generations in all European countries have grown taller, so I expect it to be atleast 5'11" at this point.
