Why is the "loser kid" a loser? Because he enjoys manga/anime/reading/collecting boogers and not doing drugs/fucking chicks/playing football?

Exactly!!!!!!!! I live in Africa and it's illegal in 95% of the countries. In Saudi Arabia they cut your head off, in Iran they hang you, but this douche lives in Toronto. What bothers him so much is that he is gay but not ready to come out, so he exhibits homophobia in a desperate attempt to divert suspicion. I did the exact same thing when I was in the closet. Never had a girlfriend, not into sports, but verry straight acting. I told people I was "just metrosexual" when they pushed me for an answer. Pathetic. We can all relate to Shawn's situation. I think what you said here is really what a lot of the people saying "aww poor Shawn" are missing. If you go through his tag on instagram you'll find a lot of content where his young and *impressionable* fans are saying so much shit because of this interview. I found like this photoshopped picture of Shawn and some Kpop star and the person who posted it seemed to be clueless of what he said in the interview and just posted it because they thought the edit was "funny" and someone commented "I hope Shawn never sees this shit", the poster replied "It's not shit, it's just funny" and that person replied "you probably haven't seen his latest interview", the person wasn't even suggesting that Shawn is gay or anything, it was probably some Shawn stan who also liked kpop and found that edit but gets attacked because some other fan now thinks being gay is the worst thing in the world.

If people didn’t bombard him with hate/lies he wouldn’t even feel the need to make public comments which affect gay kids around the world. It’s the gays that have done this. Actions have consequences. The community can’t just attack him continously and then be upset when he comments saying something they don’t like.
