Well, TikTok just got banned in the USA, and I assume that he uses TikTok USA and not one of the other versions, since Americans can see all of his videos. So, if he wants to keep making the same cash as he was, next year he'll have to switch to OF to keep making the same level of cash. And, he recently posted a TikTok saying that he has the best mouth on the internet. I can't wait for him to get desperate enough to show us.
Tiktok got banned ONLY if they can't cant/won't divest and appoint an American CEO. Guarantee you this happens OR musk/zuck/someone buys a controlling stake in the company.

It won't. China has laws against selling their companies to foreign powers. And, the USA knew this, so that they can blame China for the TikTok ban in January. And, they extended the amount of time for ByteDance to sell until after the election, because they know that young people wouldn't vote for Biden if the TikTok ban happened before the election.
I hope TikTok does get banned. It’s just another platform for foreign powers to spread misinformation / propaganda and further divide us and interfere in our politics.
Are you kidding? There are so many examples. And it’s been happening on Facebook and other platforms, but TikTok is the worst.

Zhang Yiming doesnt even have the majority ownership anymore. 60% of ByteDance is owned by institutional investors, mostly big American firms like General Atlantic, Sequoia Capital, KKR, the Carlyle Group, and Coatue Management. China can "strongly oppose" the sale to an American company, but the non-chinese controlled board could easily overrule that.
