Not speculating one way or the other -. It's unhelpful and disrepectful to his family and friends. I would guess it might be since many of the gay rugby clubs are posting about his passing and including mental health information. It's so very very sad.

I've already seen some horrible anti-vaxxers jump in and try to blame it on the covid vaccination - utter scumbags to do that.

And with good reason… Simon always came across as someone who was very sweet, humble, and down to earth. I never knew him personally but the few people I know in Calgary who did have nothing but good things to say about him. For someone with his looks and profile it could have very easily been a different story.

All we know from media is that the cause of his death “are not under investigation.” Seems indicative of an accidental death or, most probable, death by suicide. Sad news in whatever case.
I hope he rests in peace.

Based on his comments on that topic it would appear he was at peace with said pic being out in the world. Like anyone he would have preferred it stayed private but didn’t consider the possible ramifications of sending it in a moment of horniness. At the end of the day I t was just a leaked pic… It’s not as if he lost opportunity because of it, no one tried to blackmail him, nor was it sent to any of his family members. My impression of his comments on it was that he treated it as a “learning experience”.

By no means am I blaming him for the leak but just acknowledging that there’s a certain amount of risk some people have to accept when they share information/pics with people on the internet. In Simons case it’s pretty clear he seems to have acknowledged that.
