You know when I really think back I guess you’re right it just shocked me cause if I remember correctly wasn’t it also USA network that was airing ‘Touched by an angel’ at that time also? To think that they could have that on at 3pm and then hulking shirtless Jerry Banks and some Mega Boob women in barely there bikinis asking for a slip to happen on the same network just probably prime time or after midnight is something

Yes it did and it also had much push back from the fcc and other groups, they had to give alerts for the times it was gonna show things and and after the show ended they hadn’t shown anything to that degree since up to the 2010’s afterwards. They did little things here and there like the gag of the naked man running out of a place cause his clothes were stolen and other tropes but it was all shot to where they didn’t show full butt crack and women’s breasts or nipples weren’t shown again either until later I believe after the 90’s ended
*weren’t shown again on abc or network tv. I know obviously hbo and the premium channels were doing whatever. I’m just saying there was a strong conservative presence back then which made that clip surprising to learn where it’s from is all my main point. It wasn’t common place like it would be now.
were there any other network shows that showed nudity i recall abc series called betrayal 2013 where Stuart Townsend was clearly naked but it was blurred out. I think eventually the it was deleted for TV
There was many moments they would have a man naked but it would always be obscured or blurred and played for a gag like the loincloth trope. There was this show men in trees in the early 2000’s where a guy just stands up fully naked but the camera zooms out and pans to the woman’s face and shows his blurry nude body in the periphery of her face.
Ioan gruffudd the actor has this one show where the promo for it was him naked but the nudity was always obscured, you’d see the side of his body but never his full on butt crack and of course never his penis or balls. There were many countless examples like that where they would have a man naked but never show the actual goods.
