For the slightly sarcastic LPSG friends who emailed me, here it is. Afterward the guest of honor's wife said I sounded just like Dean Martin.

Depending on the audio system this karaoke recording can sound fabulous. In our hotel banquet hall the female backup singers (go to 1:15) singing "round, turn around" sounded like a choir of angels with reverb enveloping the room octaves above middle C.

Note: This karaoke includes lyrics but not showmanship tips such as "make expansive gestures here." It also helps if your audience is well-lubricated and are listening with their senior citizen hearts and memories more than their ears. Oh...and wear your best Sunday duds.

I'm on a Lorde kick recently because I've just discovered how much actually good music she's produced. I didn't like Royals, her debut hit, so I wrote her off initially, but I've given a second look, and I'm glad I did.
