He tested positive for HIV in 2013. In straight porn, at that time, they immediately put your status on blast and blacklisted you. If it was a guy who had done any gay/bi/trans work then homophobes would immediately come out screaming about how they were endangering the industry and how no guys who did crossover work should be allowed to film straight porn. They always pretended that they had to have contracted it from the gay work even if in a case like this where TJ hadn't filmed gay scenes for a decade and the ones he did were condom scenes. He more likely contracted it from escorting or from his private life.
He pretty much disappeared after that fiasco.

Not a rumor. I always check multiple sources. It was widely reported in industry trades at the time (2013) that are still up on the internet. I don't want to get in trouble for posting links to those sites but a simple Google search for "TJ Cummings HIV" will confirm. Mike South even did an interview with TJ himself that confirmed it.
