In your way of thinking then, if a gay man dies a virgin never having contact with another man, he is not gay? Is sexuality an action, or a characteristic/ identity? And why is it not good enough for you when you hear a guy (who you don't know), say he is straight (desires the feminine gender) but has a deeper attraction to trans women, and makes it clear he feels no desire or attraction to men or anyone who is of the masculine gender I.E, trans men? Sexuality is complicated, as is gender identity. And it is personal. It just seems you feel threatened by the idea that you can't get your head around it so therefore oversimplify it and question others in a cynical way.

Just sounds like a straight guy who's open to different types of sex, but is only attracted to a feminine person. I’m 54 and when you get I used to believe trans women were still men. I grew and learned about things. There’s some things more important than your belief in biology. How a person feels is for them and their happiness, not yours or “science.” I identify as 100% gay. I have slept with women in my younger years but to me it was about sex and the feeling of it, not attraction. I also I’m recent years have found myself attracted to some trans men, does that make me straight/bi? No! I identify how I feel and not how you perceive me, just like straightfelon.

I think it's more about being attracted to feminine energy or masculine energy and everything in between. I nor probably you would be attracted to a trans woman because they exude too much feminine energy and look. Ask yourself if you would suck a trans womans dick, most gay guys would say noway Jose, but straight men and bisexual men would........I dunno, those are just my thoughts. But I do see what you are saying about calling or labeling oneself one way when they present as another. Labels are very important in society even though people who hate being judged have been fighting them for decades. Most men who are mostly attracted to women are afraid that women won't want them anymore if they admit they are attracted to men. It's about not losing further prospects.

The LGBT community changes labels at will and is full of labels to begin with. Things need to have clear, defined meanings or else they mean absolutely nothing. This includes sexuality. Defining the LGBT community is how they obtained their rights to begin with. We can't explain something without a clear explanation or definition.
We can identify however you want, but we shouldn't be upset when society says defines us. We aren't the only ones making the rules here.
