Is it anything like that atrocious horror movie Natalie Portman did a few years back?
My wife and I have met Mrs. Warren. She is a very sweet person. We were having some problems at our house and she was a big help to us. I know a lot of people say oh she is a fake etc, but until you experience what my wife , kids and I experienced and she really helped you, you wouldn't say she was a fake.
The evil spirits are pretty much never Christian. The witch in this movie for example worshiped Satan. The reason exorcism theoretically works is because of the help of God, Archangels and, depending on the religion, other things (ie: Catholicism has Jesus).i saw this movie, and can i say 2 things, 1)it was great. 2)what a big propaganda film for the catholic church. As though evil spirits are warded off by blessings and prayers. Until praying can stop a tsunami or hault a terror attack, give me a break. What if the ghosts are mormons, or jews? what a bogus claim by the warrens.
Also, I can't see how this is propaganda for the catholic church since the catholic church didn't do anything in the movie.
Oh, definitely. Though I am not sure how you can do a film about demonic possession without it. Some other religions view sicknesses as possessions, but a sickness isn't as terrifying as the embodiment of evil among us.I can't speak on behalf of egg, but I wouldn't say that the movie has much to do with the Catholic Church, but surely you agree that the movie is covered in an extremely thick layer of Christian esprit de corps? In this case Catholicism.

Well, it is a quote from one of the guys the movie is about, and is supposed to further the element of this being based on real events. I viewed it less as forcing the views, and more of trying to convince us that it is real to make it that much more terrifying.I'm aware that God has to be present in a film about the devil, and it doesn't generally bother me. But I think this movie tries to force its views unto the audience much more than, say, The Excorsist. I am primarily referring to the quote that appears during the end critics that basically says "believe in God or be prepared to burn in hell".
There is a lot of hype surrounding this movie. It was given an R rating because it was deemed too scary for a PG-13 audience despite no gore, violence, or foul language. I have yet to see this movie. Has anyone else have? If so, what were your thoughts?
