The Gay Hanky Code?

Is the hanky code still in vogue these days? I remember back in the 70's and 80's the gay community here in LA (especially at clubs and on the streets of Hollywood) would wear a colored hanky in the back pocket for signalling others of their interests. So looking around, I found this highly (perhaps overly) detailed version of the color code. What about it? Is it still in play?

i used to see that in a very few bars in london in the 90s but def by late 90s it seemed to have gone - i don't think I've seen that code used over the last 25+ years.

I was talking with some younger gay friends a few weeks ago and they'd never even heard of it.

I guess its not really needed now as its legal in so many places to be gay? and everyone uses apps now?

It was problematic anyway whilst most 'colours' were obvious, some weren't and i could never remember which way left/right pockets meant!!!

Very interesting. This would be cool but there are so many colors to memorize. I guess it is easy when you just memorize the colors that you are interested in.

Me well I would be:
Blue, Light on the Right and
Blue, Light with White Dots on the Right.

As someone who enjoys pleasing young men as a top, I've wished for years that at least that portion of the hanky code existed, so I could tell which boys out in the world might be interested. lol. It's a small subset of young gay men that love daddies, and it's impossible to tell them without speaking through the apps. Hunter green, you say?
