Other soaps (YR, GL, ATWT, AMC) did it in the past on network tv. Sadly that trend didn't last long. But there is no excuse for this kind of prudishness on Peacock.
I remember when the long running older skewing soaps, ATWT and GL started doing some ass shots of their men in late 2003. ATWT’s Mark Collier in the shower, GL’s Daniel Cosgrove laying in bed. Then the infamous Nipplegate happened at the superbowl, and shortly thereafter, another prerecorded booty glimpse of GL’s Marty West aired, and CBS went bonkers and fired the EP and Headwriter and nudity in Springfield and Oakdale was never seen again.
That's exactly how it went. The Superbowl incident changed everything. Even NYPD Blue stopped to do nude scenes after a 1.2 million fine. But the fine was nullified years later.
