Thomas Jane

The guy is hot, but not the best actor and the show was boring. I watch "True Blood", so I'll check it out a few more times to see if it gets better.

I think we've been overloaded with sex and the formula Hollywood has for us is getting old. Your expectations of this or any show might be too high a bar that is set for anything to hold your interest ?

Why can't HBO do something REALLY daring -- like focus on women who want Big? Why fix the entire thing on the perspective of the man?

You mean that hasn't been covered in television and movies already? Wonder why so many men walk around ashamed of the package they have...

My fellow ladies -- did any of you see the premier of this new series on HBO? I thought it was really boring and bad. They spent so much time building up how bad our hero's life has become...I actually fell asleep! And when the artist proposed acting as a pimp...this is so divorced from reality it only made the whole thing more boring...

Yes, I will watch the next episode, but I don't think it's going up from here...;-)

I know a lot of white guys who are ordinary and they are hung. And they didn't sell the cock...but a few used it to their advantage though.

IMO pilots are never the best indicator of how a show is. I'll watch up until maybe the 4th episode unless it's really attrocious since I think the comedy aspect is likely going to come from the lead's misadventures in selling himself.

For those who are looking for something explicit, flat out skip it. If the show actually relied on showing a huge dick, it may as well just be porn. And I don't think HBO is planning to get into that industry with a series they're advertising like this.

It was alright. I watched it twice but hopefully it'll get better as he starts pimping...

I predict an early exit for this show unless they make some major changes to the setup. I read an article somewhere about why it would flop. Makes sense to me.

1. Few female viewers because alot of women balk at the suggestion that they are just after a big dick. It's silly to them.
2. Males want to see more than what they will be showing. As mentioned, it's mostly innuendo. Men are visual. We need explicit scenes. Not innuendo.

I watched it last night on some repeat airing and wasn't really feeling it. So far as them showing his dick goes - I wouldn't hold your breath. Maybe they'll show the outline of his package in certain scenes through his underwear at some point. It's hard to pinpoint who the target audience is - women and gay men maybe, but if they want a straight male 18-49 following they had better get some better looking women on the show. The poetry teacher was very plane Jane, Anne Heche used to date Ellen. I'll never be able to disassociate the two. Ellen kills an erection at about the same intensity and speed as Hilary Clinton. But I digress.

Another thing I hate about shows like this - they're trying to suggest that "Ray" is down on his luck, his wife says he "used to be" athletic and attractive, and that now all he has is his dick. Seems pretty obvious to me that Thomas Jane is an attractive guy and those scenes he had shirtless suggest he's still pretty athletic and in shape. If this is what Hollywood considers out of shape and unattractive, shit the rest of us are screwed.

Straight men won't watch the series because the sad sacks for females that they have cast make most men shrivel at the sight of.

Seriously... Ann Heche and Jane Adams? :scared:

Ann Heche will kill this series just like she's ruined everything she has ever done.

I wouldn't fuck Ann Heche or Jane Adams with Thomas Janes dick.

... and therein lies the problem of getting straight male viewers to watch the show.

Anne Heche?! Wer supposed to believe that Anne Heche is a straight female?! I agree I wouldn't do her with anyones elses dick. She reminds me of a chihuahua that has eaten something bad (Facially) Her voice is shrill and she looks butch no matter what she wears. Glad I don't have hbo.

Kind of funny, all the straight guys thought the show sucked, while all the gay guys seem to have liked it. Still, given the relatively small gay audience that will probably continue to watch the show, I believe that based on the responses here, the show will be a complete flop.

Maybe "The L Word" didn't offer Anne Heche enough.

Speaking of which, when "The L Word" was premiering some years ago, they were advertising it on NFL playoff games. Yeah, that's where their "target demographic" lives...they were pitching that show to straight men with the sex scenes and to sapphic sisters with the pc plotlines. Eventually the straight men got tired of wading through 55 minutes of lesbian angst for 5 minutes of naked bodies. Well at least I did.

This show, best as I can figure, will settle into a gay-male demo and then disappear.

the first show was definitely a little slow. maybe because there was a lot of set-up and introductions to make? i don't know.

it has potential for some pretty funny/awkward scenes, so hopefully it will pick up and reach that potential.
