Everyone has a right to their own life. Nobody should be judged by their sexuality. I think it's bad that assumptions are made here again and again. Nobody deserves this . It also doesn't matter what sexual preferences everyone has, only the character is decisive. The size of a penis also says nothing about a person, whether it is visible or not. It is up to everyone whether they want to come out as gay or bi.

Why is it bad if we assume someone is gay rather than assuming they're straight

Because it creates unnecessary pressure on public figures. There are many examples of such celebrities closing themselves off and speaking very negatively about the queer community. We can all be glad that there are now many celebrities who have come out, profess their love and find a lot of support everywhere. So why start speculating about others who might not be ready for it themselves or who don't belong to the community at all.

Discussion of those topics In Public and on mainstream sites like Twitter/Facebook or direct messaging/tagging the person is definitely an issue, discussing it on niche websites like this site is far less of an issue IMO.

I see it that way too, and that's why I'm of the opinion that such discussions and assumptions shouldn't be spread any further on sites like this one. People who are in the public eye are ultimately people like us, have a private life, their families. I've already commented on this on some social media, I've been insulted, but I've also been encouraged. I don't care what people say or write about me, I stand by my opinion. I don't like certain personalities because they are gay, bi or straight, but because I appreciate them. These people stand by themselves and their opinions. They stand by their families and friends. Some of these people I am friends with and I would never spread personal knowledge about them and take advantage of it. Anyone who doesn't get along with it has problems with their own personality and lives them out via social media and forums like this one under some invented name because they are too cowardly to be open about themselves.
