Austin butler not winning for Elvis was a huge snub
Austin butler really really bothers me for some reason. Ever since “The Carrie Diaries” his acting just bugs the hell out of me. I’m a HUGE Elvis fan and I still haven’t seen the movie because of him. Hahah

Timothee will be fine. He's doing exactly what he needs to do as an actor, and if he genuinely cares about awards this will only light a fire under his ass and amplify his ambition.

I don't think CMBYN was a fluke, and I think that after he's done flexing in these high profile pictures, he'll do something smaller again, like Marty Supreme. He's just getting started.

Girlfriend, a "Complete Unknown" was small and alternative enough to prove Timothy as a potential award winner, but it did not quite deliver much and Timothy is losing momentum. Not to mention "Little Women", "A Beautiful boy", "Bones and all", or even "The French Dispatch" were quite small yet failed to establish Timothy as an award titan.

For some reason we want to see him winning awards now and so he can prove everyone what the hype is all about and that the "Call me by your name" explosion was not just a one-trick pony thing.

Timothee doesn't have to be an awards titan to prove that he isn't a one-trick pony. He's done a wide variety of work across different genres, for different demographics, from blockbusters to indies. If anyone thinks he's a one-trick pony by this point, they haven't been paying attention.

Leonardo DiCaprio didn't win an Oscar until his 5th nomination at the age of 40. Timothee has time, and if he loses to Brody it won't invalidate his talent.
