LPSG has had a problem with some members falsifying their gender or age, etc. to fool members into camming/communicating with them. Since it is not only unfair to the membership but also bordering on illegal, the Moderating Team has added the following to the Terms of Service:

"Blatant attempts to deceive the membership - Such as falsifying gender or age for the purpose of disrupting the board or taking advantage of member(s)."

This isn't an invitation for the membership to report every faker on the site (goodness knows we don't have enough moderators to cover that) but your diligence is appreciated where BLATANT attempts to deceive the membership disrupt the flow or put LPSG at risk.

I should also add, or at least help clarify, that we need to have proof for these sorts of things before we ban. We can't people just ban people by word-of-mouth. Try to get screenshots of cams or conversations or whatever proof you may have. Thanks.

:grinning-smiley-003 I support this addition to the ToS. Even though, apart from age and, I assume, other unspecified possible reasons for violation, this provision seems almost exclusively to address the male memberships' issues with fake women. I could be incorrect, but hope that people would still be encouraged to use their own discretion and good sense when communicating with another member.

Would also like to see a broader definition of gender, and gender classification, for any posters that may identify as a different gender than they present or are trans.

So I guess that people who shave off a few years or posted a different birthday due to privacy reasons are okay.

I would assume that that is why the bit I have highlighted in red was added Mem but perhaps a mod a admin could confirm.

This has always been against the ToS.
Falsification of one's date of birth
You have the option to keep your birthday private.

Anything that cuts down on fakes is welcome.

LadyShady,

The issue of those who wish to give no gender, or identify as something other than male/female was discussed at length before adding this section to the ToS, we neither want to discriminate against people of differing status nor allow that status to be abused by others, which is why we require absolute proof that a blatant attempt to deceive has transpired.

This isn't just to address men and their concerns over fake women, it also addresses the concerns over men and women switching ages to better fit the person they wish to get close to.

There is a huge issue with men posing as women, and both knocking off anything up to 40 years from their ages, and while its fine to say that if you're engaging in a relationship online, you knowingly take a risk, that doesn't mean that we have to sit back and knowingly allow people to trick others into these relationships.
Very happy to read that gender identity was a topic of discussion before revising the terms of service.

Of course, the hope is that everyone is truthful, but I know that is not the case with some who, out of malevolence, are here to deceive and hurt others. As care has been taken to discuss the issues that could arise form this new policy before putting it into effect, I support it and like the direction that Rob_E, you, and the other moderators are taking to address and prevent abuse in this area.

Thank you for the response!

Does this take into account trying to pass off another person's pictures as your own?

There was a very bitter thread about this a few days ago.

I like the new stipulation.

Beh.

That being said, I have always held a different DAY in my birthday month, in order to not have someone try to track me down by my date of birth. Thus, my age is never in question.

What about the ToS about following people around and commenting on them and never stopping? What if it's like a...vendetta thing where the person doesn't stop following a member around and then their friends making ENDLESS comments that are not good?
