Those things appeared in gay media a thousand times before CMBYN, it's quite a common aesthetic for gay films, second, the 80s is a style that is very on trend nowadays and given that the movie is about HIV anmongst other things I can see it as a reference to the start of it all. Bikes and smoking have appeared both in several gay films and short films through the years, like "Kiss me softly" for example. And Troye wants to fuck Tim as everybody else lol, I don't see why is this even a theme to discuss in here. CMBYN didn't invent that aesthetic nor was the first film piece to ever have scenes like that

That might all be true...BUT TROYE HASN"T DONE HUNDREDS of INTERVIEWS AND VIDEOS TALKING THEM. He specifically talks about CMBYN and Timothee. Why are people defensive about this? So what if Troye is absolutely, undeniably, obsessed with CMBYN?

I literally just wrote out 5 similar pieces right here...and I've never seen Three Months. I can think of millions of movies that have NONE of those eliments, yet Three Months and CMBYN BOTH so. I bet you the director and Troye even joked about how similar it was to CMBYN. I'd be shocked if it wasn't an inside joke on set.

if you think cmbyn was the first movie that was in that specific timeframe that had smoking and bikes and bed scene of all things you’re deeply out of touch, you’re reaching so hard. just wait and see the movie yourself before jumping to conclusions because from the trailer alone there’s no similarities between the two.
