My first boyfriend told me this a lot. Said “men are dogs” a lot. Lo and behold I caught go cheating on me a lot of times.
Guess we were never actually together, just that the way he treated me felt like a relationship but he wasn’t ready to settle down quite yet(most likely he just doesn’t want to lose his buddies on the side). Either way it was fine; we stayed good friends, we work better as friends anyways since we had nothing in common
that picture litterally doesn't mean anything. it's just two people who are friends/collegues having lunch/dinner together. it's not a "smoking gun" of them making out or whatver...
I know they had an affair, Ned admitted to it, but this perticular picture doesn't mean anything.

Am i the only one who doesn't care? He didn't murder someone he caved to weakness and cheated shock horror happens all the time i feel bad for his wife but him losing his job over something that would never be fireable in the real world and the overreaction would have you think he did something horrendous.

it was consensual on both ends though wasn't it? I just feel its a way overreaction from people who are not his wife only she should be this upset you didn't know him he is some random entertainer online i just don't understand the investment people have for famous people but also the way some people act like cheating is the worst crime ever is ott i have been cheated on it does hurt but that's life you move on from it people are human are weak and make mistakes.

I've never watched Try Guys, so I'm barely invested in these people, but from what I've learned, the nature of the company and the nature of the affair are so intertwined that it disrupted the workflow as well as the brand.
Both Ned and Alex were on screen talent, as was Ariel, Ned's wife. Alex's fiance also works for Try Guys. It's clear from all the Instagram unfollowing that this affair had more far-reaching and personal consequences than just, "Sure he cheated, but let's move on."
It seems like there was a complete internal breakdown within the company over this, and judging by the Instagram statements Ned and Ariel made, they've got a legal team involved as well. Not to mention the betrayal their audience apparently feels.
Ned and Alex's decisions have obviously resulted in a toxic work environment, so his departure makes sense.

like it’s one thing if they were of equal level in different departments but Ned was literally a co-owner. Someone ultimately having control over your employment and pay is going to affect the dynamics whether you realize it or not

LMFAO YES IT IS. Alex, the girl he cheated with, is a SUBORDINATE. He is her boss. She could easily go on and say that he coerced and threatened her to do these things with him because he was in a higher position of power in the company and had her job on the line. She could SUE him AND the company for this. It is literally called workplace sexual coercion. It is NOT uncommon for something like this to happen.
Also, their jobs aren't "normal". Their jobs are to be on social media and post videos about them doing various activities. You can't say shit like "never be fireable in the real world" because this is the real world and what they did obviously does not apply to other jobs because again, their jobs are literally to be on social media. Not firing him would literally tarnish the brand they have built up - and basically his entire personality which he has based around his wife, family, and being a yale graduate.
On top of that, there are additional complications such as the misuse of company funds which could have been used for their little dates and trips together which are different legal matter - and not to mention the fact that HIS WIFE IS ALSO LITERALLY AN EMPLOYEE OF THE COMPANY TOO.

when your entire brand is "I love my wife to whom I'm married and as proof, see the two children she birthed because I had sex with her because I love my wife" and you cheat on said wife, you've just destroyed your branding and damaged the company you've built on that branding...
I think the backlash would've been a lot smaller if any of the other 3 had done what Ned did because their branding is not all about marriage and family. They would still have gotten fired for sleeping with an employee, but the fan backlash would have been lesser.
From a PR perspective this in a good example of why you shouldn't brand yourself based on your relationship to others. Eugene is a good example because is branding is asian, southern, gay, sarcastic, fashion, etc. and there's very little that he could do that would damage that type of branding.

he got into this mess not because he was cheating on his wife. That’s ridiculous thinking. He got into this mess because of who was he cheating on with. You should never date or have a sentimental relationship with a co worker, specially if you’re the owner of the company

The problem isn't that she can't make decisions for herself. The problem is that under California law, she gets A LOT of leverage to sue the company for $$$ and win, just by virtue of the fact that she was the subordinate and he was the boss. If she claims that she gave in to his advances because she worried her career was at stake, they will need a mountain of hard-to-find proof to counter those allegations. He exposed the company to a HUGE liability just to get laid.
Until Alex actually comes out and says "I slept with him because I felt coerced" or "my job was in danger", I still feel like people are dogpiling on Ned because their own feelings are hurt by him cheating, and that's kinda selfish. I understand that he was in a position of authority over her, and that it was very inappropriate for them to have this affair, but this clearly wasn't a one-time thing, there's photos of them out and about together on dates or clubbing.
