Actually, suing Ned is a smart move on the Try Guys' behalf. After the news broke, they decided to oust him immediately. As a business partner, they were protecting their interests. Ned would be entitled to any revenue made from releasing videos he was in, so they edited a lot of them to exclude Ned. Also, he was their merch would be in jeopardy so that will have to change as well. All these changes they have to make to move forward is not cheap. There are production costs to edit someone out and extra man hours they need to pay their employees. Actions have consequence.

I never said it wasn’t a smart business move. I said it doesn’t benefit Ariel who they proclaimed they were so hurt and angered for. I’m well aware they were trying to save face and save their brand but all of the hoopla and dramatic was supposedly because Ariel was their friend too. However, while suing Ned could help them recoup cost for editing him out, which they didn’t have to do, it also hurts the friend they swore they were offended for. They could’ve have bulk released everything and made what they could for it. But they instead made several videos, podcast, ig, Twitter and Snapchat post about it and chose to cut him out of the videos and redo merch.

I actually find their content more entertaining and less cookie-cutter. Their season of Without a Recipe is a lot more consistently funny with Ned edited out. It just showed how absolutely unnecessary he was for the whole dynamic. And the new series with the ranking king puppet was fun to watch. I'm interested to see what changes they'll be implementing in the future now that the three of them are gonna be creating videos they want to make opposed to ones to appease the algorithm
