Vibrator suggestions?

A gift card from the adult toy shop.

That way she can chose what she likes.

I second the gift card idea. Sex toys are such a personal choice. I haven't been fond of any of the rabbits I've tried, and my vibrator choices I've been pretty picky. I personally enjoy a couple of the vibrators made by Evolved Novelties, but that may not be your friend's cuppa tea. I know some ladies swear by the Hitachi Magic Wand, and some who freaking hate the thing.

throwing it in for gift cards.
ya could make it an adventure shopping together.

She's never used a vibrator before, so she's doesn't really know what her preference is yet. She wants to get her first one and has a birthday coming up.

Unless you guys are saying get a gift card for privacy reasons?

there's a reason it hasn't changed and has been a best-seller since the 60's.
there's even a new cordless version... but call me old-fashioned i like the one that plugs right into the power outlet :p

Hi there,

It really seems like it becomes a personal choice. The Hitachi magic wand, shown above also has attachments you can get for it. The only downside for a beginner is that they seem big. You might consider whether she will be intimidated.

the best bet for sexual pleasure is a Rabbit Vibe. My personal favorites is from Beyond 2000. They are expensive, $70-100 but they work and last well. They hit both the inside and the outside. If you dont know for sure what she likes, this is a good bet. In a way it gives you everything, a toy that should really work for her, a handle that lets you play along as well.

If she likes G-spot orgasms, I recommend the insatiable G. It looks a little strange but it really hits the spot. They bullets each have their own control and when they get in sync its awesome. I think I paid around 50 bucks for it. It looks weird, but is not huge or really intimidating. The downside for you is there really isn't a handle for you to assist in the action. But if you like watching a girl get off hands free this is a great option.

Another vibrator that may be great for breaking the ice is the We- Vibe. They are big bucks, 125 or more. But they can be used as a couple.

Well, if she's never had one before it may take a little trial and error to find something she likes. G-spot vibrators and rabbits don't do a whole lot for me, for example. If I'm using a vibrating toy, I pretty much just focus on the clit. I've never really enjoyed any of the g-spot vibrators I've tried or reviewed, though I use some dildos for g-spot stimuli. I used to write product reviews on a variety of things for an adult site that has everything from lingerie to lube to bdsm stuff to a slew of toys for penetration, vibration, and so on.

I say get a gift card because even if she doesn't know what she'd like to try first, she will know better than anyone else what most appeals to her when faced with choice. She can then take the item and see if she guessed correctly about what the various features would provide, what she likes about her choice, and what she would like to be different about her next trial. If you're concerned, as I often am when giving a gift card, that the recipient will think you were thoughtless, simply tell her that you sought advice from women who would know, and that a majority of them insisted she choose her own. You can also tell her about what items were recommended, and why.

For penetration I like and dido made from safe material that is not too firm. I prefer a lot of length, for wrist-saving leverage, and a girth from 4.5" - 6". I like it to be a pretty color. If it has the ability to vibrate, vibration must be strong throughout the entire device, not just at one point. The button to operate it should be stiff enough that I cannot accidentally turn it off and frustrate myself.

The only g-spot vibrator I have ever loved is Lelo Gigi. Most g-spot vibes have an egg-shaped tip, and the part that actually makes pressure contact on the sensitive spot is the very top of the tip, and the contact point is too small. The flat tip of Gigi makes fuller contact with my g-spot, and even makes external vibration a sensation I can enjoy. Typically, I hate external vibration, but this toy is exceptional in all regards. It is powerful, has five modes, can be locked for travel so it doesn't go off in a suitcase, is made of quality materials, and comes with a velvet pouch for storage. Lelo personal moisturizer is a nice companion, as is the Lelo massage oil candle if you want to touch her while she enjoys herself.

OK, a question about the cordless Magic Wand. I saw one the other day and actually considered it.

But then I'm reminded of this wonderful gift I got for my husband and what happened to it. He had been wanting a Dremel tool to do some fine work on his instruments. So for his birthday one year I got him this huge kit with all kinds of attachments. And in it was a cordless Dremel tool. I figured he could use it a lot more if he weren't wrangling with the cord.

About two months later I see him working in his studio and he has a Dremel tool plugged in. I asked him what happened to the cordless, and he said it was nice, but it wasn't strong enough for some tough jobs. The corded one had more horsepower.

OK, I'm not quite petrified wood, but I also don't want something that's not quite up to my personal standards. It would be nice not having to be so close to an outlet!

Anyone have experience with one?
