Does anyone know why Washington Mutual bank changed it's name to WaMu. That sounds horrid.

WaMu is just short for Washington Mutual. People that live in the Pacific Northwest region of the country had been calling it WaMu for years prior to the name change. It's just easier to remember.

it's just to shorten it... they take the Wa from Washington and the Mu from Mutual to make it WaMu.

it use to be providian bank....and they were a bitch to work with, paying them back for credit cards.

I suspect they'll change the spelling again to C-H-A-S-E at some point coming down the pike. :wink:
