So... "Cunt" is ok?
Last week I posted a thread of an 8-year-old child prodigy, a charming little asian girl, who played a perfect, difficult Chopin nocturne on the piano.
Two hours later, a mod PM'd me saying he was sorry, but the thread had to be removed because:
"the ToS doesn't allow images or links to images of minors.
It's the only way we can keep the pervs away." -- he wrote.
So... a child prodigy playing Chopin, which was not in the slightest sexual, is out, but a half-dozen "cunt" threads are in?

Hell looking at all the threads appearing in "new posts" I'll be dreaming about them tonight and that will make a big change
Well, make sure you wear boxing gloves to bed, just incase you forget and get carried away. :biggrin1:

I think that the idea was that it's okay to say things like "Her cunt smells like the beach at high tide" but not okay to say things like "She's a stupid cunt" -- not in headings, anyway. The opposite of the situation in a certain episode of South Park:
Ms. Choksondik: All right, children, in lieu of the common usage, I'm supposed to clarify the school's position on the word "shit."
Stan: Wow! We can say "shit" in school now?!
Kyle: This is ridiculous! Just because they say it on TV it's all right.
Ms. Choksondik: Yes, but only in the figurative noun form or the adjective form.
Cartman: Huh?
Ms. Choksondik: You can only use it in the non-literal sense. For instance, [turns and writes on the board] "That's a shitty picture of me" is now fine. However, the literal noun form of [writes] "This is a picture of shit" is still naughty. [crosses out the sentence]
Cartman: I don't get it.
Stan: Me neither.
Ms. Choksondik: The adjective form is now also acceptable. For example: [writes] "The weather outside is shitty." However, the literal adjective is NOT appropriate. For example: [writes] "My bad diarrhea made the inside of the toilet bowl shitty, and I had to clean it with a rag, which then also became shitty." [crosses it out] That's right out!
Timmy: Sshh...sshh...[draws it out] shit. [grins]
Ms. Choksondik: Very good, Timmy.
Butters: [raises his hand] Huh-uh, Ms. Choksondik, eh, can we say it in the expletive? Like, "Oh, shit," or, "shit on a shingle"?
Ms. Choksondik: Yes, that's now fine.
Cartman: Wow, this is gonna be great! A whole new word!

Looks like the situation has been revised. So I guess we can get back to dishing that cunt Carrie Prejean.
My mistake.. must be the drugs. But wasn't he one when I had my ban lifted? Things change with the tide here.
As you know this was not my intent. I'm far more subtle when inflaming.
"some people"? Who? Hmmmmmmm
Okay fine. Thanks for all that but who the fuck changed it?
That's what I was trying to ascertain and what's obviously missing from the explanation. Christ. I try to post a thread for once in two months about a real CUNT (a perfectly acceptable Anglo-Saxon word) and within minutes someone plays Polyanna with it...

What vince said ^ up there.
Ah the problems one encounters when he neglects to read all new posts before posting anew.
It just felt truly creepy since the mod in question was not apparent on the board. I think I'll stick to what kind of automobile I drive. It's less controversial.

As someone who has previously been a forum moderator on another website, I empathize with the "damned if you do, damned if you don't" sentiment. It's easy to howl about censorial maneuvers (do it myself). But erring on the side of decorum and prudence is wisdom in action. Things can always be loosened up later. But the reverse is not always true.
And I found the cunt thread spam orgy a cheap and artless act.

this whole thread is stupid anyway...
stupid thread, about a stupid show and a stupid woman that nobody should waste any time on anyway.
seriously, who the fuck cares about Larry King or this girl? Neither have anything remotely interesting or intelligent to offer.
it is stupid crap like this that gives more attention to these absurd people when it should just be ignored.

Kotch?
You do a terrific job waaaaaaaaaay above and beyond.
Thanks for doing your usual best to put things right. You knows I jus love ya ta pieces.
Au contraire. It's brought up a significant issue that was straightened away for the general posting population and made this poster better informed (always a good thing in my view).
Actually Flashy I like Larry King's show and I think women like Prejean need to be outed for the damage they do to intelligent women who must be embarassed by her very existence. So I care.
Ignoring something, in my experience, doesn't make it go away nor does it rectify social ills.

True, so true.
No, it was cheap (that you got right), childish and churlish. Much the same as would have been expected from your puppeteer. Effective? Behaving like a brat? Dragging up dormant threads with posts from persons banned and otherwise long gone, on topics no longer part of day to day? That, is not effective, unless by effective you mean pushing regular members who are here for genuine discussion out the door in disgust.
The thread itself might have had a genuine chance if it had not gotten derailed into being mostly about title changes. I am not indicating that I feel the title change was appropriate, I frown upon that sort of thing when a poster hasn't at least first been consulted and offered a chance to present their reasoning for the title. That said, it was explained by Kotchanski as to the path which was followed. If the title change was of such importance to the OP, then it should have been made into a separate thread in the Q,C&S forum inquiring what had happened- since that thread is off limits to non-registered members, the topic could have proceeded without making both members and management seem like ninnies.
you like Larry King because you are a moron and if you and others who are so up in arms about her, ignore this dumb girl, she will fade away.
she is not the head of the department of the interior or the secretary of housing and urban development who must be taken down to save the country...she is a stupid talentless bimbo, whose every word you hang on like a moron.
and the stupidity of the whole thread i was referring to was precisely based on your obsession with this stupid girl...i did not even bother to read the ensuing stupidity after you started crying about someone changing your post.
i am actually perfectly relaxed...having a perception of you as a moron does not indicate either anger or stress.
as for being a class act, i am not the one who got banned from here or is whining about people being "c*nts"
so by your defitinition
saying moron = lack of class
saying c*nt = mature and classy
and yes, i am a hoot...which is better than being a moron.
tell us again how everyone you approached in the late 1960s "you'd automatically assume had decency and fairplay as their primary directives."
LOL...still my favorite of your idiotic observations.
