I hear what you're saying, but at this point they have enough of a catalog that you can curate your own list of favorites. One of the things I look for is passion. Case in point: Paul Valery. There was just as much forgettable fluff or outright crap then as there is now, we just only remember the classics and compare what we're seeing today to those, and inevitably they come up wanting.
