How often do you obsess over the tracking number and time of arrival so you can be there to take delivery?

I must confess that I am pretty pedantic about this. I'll normally check 3 or 4 times a day after I know my parcel has shipped, and sometimes even refrain from doing daily things so I don't miss the delivery. I am not sure why I'm this way, but I am

SPN dvds? in the morning, before bed.

anything else? to see if the item has shipped and on the estimated delivery day.

I don't... I order it .. check the ETA and mark the calendar... then forget it ... until the date of arrival.

I rarely EVER check tracking.

My husband.. on the other hand... will check it daily ... until it arrives.

FP

(PS... I tend to obsess on 'other things'.. LOL)

edit: are you ordering things from Adam & Eve ? Now those things would keep me wondering when they arrive. Would HATE for something like that to fall in the wrong hands... and yes, the excitement of receiving a package from them would keep me focused more on its arrival. In truth, my husband orders those items and I never open a package from UPS/Fed Ex if addressed to him.

i have to limit checking to keep obsession in check.
left to run... i would demand GPS chips in every package.

lol, I am driving myself buggy today while waiting. My Gmail 2-step verification isn't helping either. Try to log in throughout the day, then they want to SMS my phone that I don't have on me with a code... run to phone... wait for code... enter code....

Argh

I'll check it a few times if it is something important. I have things shipped to my work, then the secretary puts them on my desk once they are delivered.

I like coming back from lunch and finding something I ordered on my desk that has arrived early.

I check tracking numbers a lot.. particularly if it's something big/special/awesome. Like the laptop I'm waiting on right now. *hits F5 on the browser tab with the tracking stuff* Damn it..

Ooo, what kind of lappytop?

Just a lil 11.6" to replace my nearly 5 year old 15" craptop that is falling apart. New one is an Acer Aspire, so I can do email and other low key shit  I have a desktop PC and other things if I want to play games.

I check it like scared crackhead to make its not delayed, when it will arrive, what time it will arrive, to make sure they'll leave it at the door or with the office people who own the grounds, and to make sure I don't miss it altogether so I have to go to their office. It's like playing a crazy game of chess.

I hate ordering some stuff online like shoes they look good online but might not fit right and if the store doesn't have another pair you have to send them back and wait. Ugh.

Agree with you totally OP
Maybe because i had a self enforced period of non consumerism products for several years
but now
my expectations of what is promised, by companies intent on supposedly providing a 'service' and then human error ( they usually put it down to or computer glitches)
is to me NO excuse, when they offer something, and invariably dont deliver, on time.
I usually have no hesitation in speaking to a senior, on any holdups.

an eg
playing, with online shopping, not as frequently as LPSG
even tho the Warehouse is only 15 minutes away
THEY offer a same day usually or next day at the least , delivery service for 5$ ONLY
So i utilize that for a few items ( i dont really need ha)
when it does NOT arrive, as per what they say
THEn they cop my wrath..

I watch that tracking # like a hawk .......... why ......... because our local UPS is crap, they have given my items to the wrong scumbag apt number or leave it in front of door ( one guess to what happens next) o_O

thank goodness the sellers I deal with will toast UPS toes to get my $$$ back

. walk to mailbox, see the note within stating that they were here at 8:07am and I never realized it.

god
exact same thing happened to me, a month ago

and to make sure I don't miss it altogether so I have to go to their office. It's like playing a crazy game of chess.

and the SAME with me
seems WW aye hahah

tell ya what, some of them Courier drivers are ..@@##%%
ring or knock silently? then Fck off quickly, leaving a note, they have been, YOU were out
make a time for another delivery
or
pick up the item from there depot, further away than the Warehouse'
WTF, you pay for a bungled non-service
grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, i insited once, and they delivered within the hour
i actually feel more sorry for elderly or non drivers etc ..

Once in the morning and once at night, until shipped. Then the night before and the day of it is supposed to arrive

And I thought I was the only one!!

I like to ensure I recieve all products and services ordered and paid for online via Amazon, EBay, etc.

However, I also like clean inbox.

There is the e-mail for:

I won the item
I paid for the item
Item shipped qnd ETA
times this times 2 or 3 orders.

I only keep the most recent email...and here is the problem....
I worry it wont come...gets lost...I forgot....needs to be returned and I need reference details.

I guess I should talk to my therapist about this drama in my head!

I don't really obsess about it. I just mark the date on the calendar and tell the doorman in NY or the gate guard in Honolulu that I'm expecting a package and ask that they sign for it. The only time I had an issue was once some things got held up in customs coming from Australia to Hawaii.
