Just a feeling... when you see someone's gaze you try to decipher it, right? At least I do.

Too young = someone who does not look mature enough, regardless of age.

Not the kind of masculinity *I* look for in a man... this is my idea of perfection: mature, strong and expressive gaze, not rugged but not insipid either (hope you get my point: elegant + interesting + secure + sweet/kind... your #2 just seems elegant to my eyes, I don't see anything else there... perhaps secure but rather arrogant).
