He was/is very successful in his personal life. He only wanted to do porn wearing a mask when he started and the producer who casted him agreed because he definitely wanted to use that big dick (no pun intended). It went that far that they actually made a joke about in one of his first movies. It's a running gag in Germany. Most people know it. Ima try to explain the scenario:

He and a girl go down to the basement where he is supposed to check the fuse box. Lots of hay lying around. He asks "Why is there so much hay laying around?". She answers "Why do you wear a mask?". He shrugs and says "Well, you could blow me". The rest is history.
