Why do threads get closed?

Why do threads get closed? I had a great chat going on my Verification Thread, and suddenly a message came up to say the thread is closed, and there's a red padlock sign at the bottom?

Have I broken a rule? If so what? I apologise if I have.

Are the Verification Request threads limited automatically to a certain number of pages?

Anyone got any answers?

:smile: You did nothing wrong. All Verification Threads get locked after you have been verified. Dude, don't sweat it, there are like 15 different ways to chat on this site do you really need to do it there?

Thanks NJQT, what a relief. Thought I might have run into some ethical barrier, which would be surprising on this site, but there seem to be rules and lines one should not cross. Thanks for the info.
