I’ve noticed in a lot of gay BJ videos, the giver has a baseball hat on backwards. Why? Why wear a hat?

I think that it's so that the brim doesnt keep hitting the guy in the pelvis when they go deep.
....as a signifier it's hot because it means they've thought about it and are probably REALLY good / into what they're doing.

I think sometimes it's to cover up baldness, but mostly as a masculine statement. I personally find it hot for that reason, along with sneakers, skater gear, and other such things.

As others have pointed out, the backwards brim is 100% to be able to suck and not lose the hat. Unless you're so low that you're basically looking straight up, baseball hats and bjs don't go together.
As for the why, it can add character. It either shows that they're a jock (a gay fetish), or adds a bit of their personality to the video. If they're a porn star, it can also help that scene stand out from others they've filmed like it.
