I haven't researched the subject. I believe that in the late 19th/early 20th. century, circumcized cocks were considered cleaner. It became normal to circumcize boys. I can't tell you my reaction when I first saw an uncircumcized cock. He had a LOT of foreskin completely covering his cock. I thought something was wrong and that the head of his cock had been cut off somehow. Now my attitude is I will take cocks as they come, no pun intended. Cut or uncut. I don't care. Frankly I think there are much more serious things to worry about than whether there's a foreskin on a cock or not. If a man was circumcized as an infant and now thinks that's terrible, he can go to a plastic surgeon. They've developed a technique to recreate a foreskin. I think that's silly - I do NOT want anybody cutting my cock! As a gay man, I don't need to worry about not having kids, so I don't have to worry about a vasectomy. That's my take on circumcision. I suppose other men who are passionate on the subject will tell me I'm wrong.

I just wanted to know why because in my country if somebody is cut it's because of religion or medic i understand this

But in a country where the majority of dude are cut whitout bein' jew or muslim i don't understand why they doin' it. that's all

of course it's a matter of opinion I just wanted to know why nothin' more ^^

It was proposed at a time when a) it was thought that it would discourage boys from masturbating and b) there was little or no indoor plumbing and people might bath once a week so it probably was cleaner.

Rather cynically, I think the habit persisted because doctors could earn more money by circumcising infant boys.

There's a lot of horseshit ideas being expressed.

Here's the answer. Way back when... Syphillis and Gonorhea were a scourge. The U.S., being a progressive nation, and with a strong interest in public health and science, conducted epidemiological studies and found that, among jews, the transmission rates of these diseases were less than half the rest of the population… and it wasn't because they were more faithful.

Routine Infant Circumcision was proposed as a public health measure to try and stem the epidemic of these diseases…

20 years later, data showed clearly that it worked. The rates of STD infection across the board dropped dramatically, and these devastating diseases actually became RARE for the first time in history.

Today… there is a group of uneducated, ignorant fetishists, absolutely obsessed with their foreskins or lack thereof who are trying to push an agenda to eliminate circumcision of infants under the claim that "men" can decide to have the procedure when they come of age if they choose. ( while they secretly know that most men would be afraid to, and that circumcision as an adult does not have as good a result as when done in childhood. )

These people are as misguided as the doofi who oppose vaccinating children against deadly diseases.

They are particularly insipid in light of the fact that Antibacterial Resistance to both vaccinated diseases and STDs is on the rise… meaning that these diseases, once caught, are becoming Less and Less treatable with each passing year.
In an age of increasing resistance to antibacterials, we are losing a big part of how we have kept these diseases in check to the point where morons who have never HAD them BECAUSE of widespread circumcision and effective cures, feel so safe that they are willing to render illegal one of the most effective Preventative measures against them.

Recently, the World Health Organization, searching for a solution to the pandemic of AIDS in Africa supported studies of Circumcision. They, TOO, found that circumcision was significantly effective in reducing transmission rates of all major STD's including HIV.

So, to the OP… THAT is why most guys in the US are cut. And that is why fewer are being cut, today, than was the case only 25 years ago.

Because it literally saved lives and improved public health… fewer infected means fewer people exposed to infections.

Anyone saying it had anything to do with masturbation is simply ignorant.

There are a lot of threads about circumcision, and they all go downhill when people start talking about how ugly/gross/mutilated people's dicks look. I don't agree with performing surgery on someone without their consent, no matter how old they are, and maybe it's not the look you like, but "ugly" and "weird" are pretty harsh.

As for how the practice started in North America, it was indeed about stopping boys from masturbating, and then it started making doctors a lot of money so the rest is history. People have been trying to find a medical reason for it ever since, but nothing's ever stuck.

My brother is uncut and I am cut. We have actually dated the same girl at different times and she said she likes circumcised penises. I have also dated women from other countries and never had a complaint about how my penis looks. I girl I dated in France loved my cock so much she would spend hours sucking it if I let her. All of her ex boyfriends were uncut so it wasn't "strange" for her.

Because a cut cock is much more attractive to women and therefore since the mom of the child is basically calling the shots here in the U.S. the baby boy was often cut.. There are plenty of jokes here in the U.S. about how uncut cocks look like rolled up joints and so forth.. Of course there may be other reasons but looking attractive is definitely one of them..

And in my opinion, cut cocks are more attractive for sure..

I've been restoring my foreskin, so far so good. But it will never be what it should have been. Super sensitive and completely covered all the time. I wish I had my original foreskin. It's there for a reason. Circumcision is awful. i have to admit though, I wasn't as sensitive as others when I was younger, you know one minute man.

Its not so much about looking better as it is about not being ravaged by disease.

You live in a world of relatively low risk BECAUSE of public health measures such as vaccination and isolation/forced treatment of tuberculosis patients… and RIC.

The antibacterial golden age we have lived in is coming to an end. Soon. That makes avoiding infection far more important than relying on the wonder drugs to clear up anything you might catch.

Women in the States express a majority preference for cut cock, not only because they are used to them and think they look nicer… but also because the uncut ones often smell bad.

A vestigial sheath is Not functional. Its genetic drift, due to its lack of any advantageous benefit, means that far more males suffer complications from malformed foreskins than from circumcision.

But all of this is moot. When your children or grandchildren are forced to consider that untreatable STDS are the new norm… and that circumcision will give their own children a 25% lower risk of being infected… if they are intelligent and love their children, they will have them circumcised when they are too young for it to be any trauma.
And then they will have them vaccinated.

The'll have their tonsils out if they become a source of chronic infection, too.

Very well said.
