World Cup

That game was crazy! At least Oscar got 1 goal in so that it wasn't a complete embarrassment.

Dude, it was worse than a complete embarrassment. They basically shamed the nation with that performance.

The only consolation is that the final result wasn't far worse.

i guess thats what the brazilian players thought and feared after the 2:0 - the pressure was way to heavy for them. The emotions way to mutch - they cried at the penalties of the 1/4 finals. They cried at the hymn today beforethe game. They already cried at the half time.

They hadto carry the expectations of 200million people and their trainer even increased the pressure

It will if you're playing the Netherlands.

Shut up...
It whouldnt even be half as nice if the netherlands will become the first winner in s. america - if argentina makes it in the finals, a european team will win the tournament by 99% - thats enough for me, i dont need a 100% :biggrin1: (i really fear to face the netherlands in the finals)

That was brutal... there was no stratagem and lost without a leader, 5 goals in the first 29 mins of the game. It seemed like every goal made them dumbfounded and impaired their ability to counter attack. David Luis did not know how to take on leadership skills after Neymar was rendered incapable of continuing. In a way, I feel Columbia was to blame for this. Though at the same time, they should have prepared for the worst, in the event of losing their best players.

The worst defeat, and complete humiliation that no team deserves. I had hopes for Brazil to take the entire thing before the game...... Oh well, Germany however deployed some fast tactical skills throughout the entire game. And as expected I knew Brazil's other option was to hurt Germany's MVP: Muller. I think even he knew he was going to be targeted after a few runs in with some of Brazil's defense. He even stepped back from one of Luis's kicks which was aimed directly at Muller's legs.

Desperation is no grounds for deploying, dirty temper tantrums. I hope they prepare for the worst next time. Addio Brazil... will be a sad week for you guys, after the death of H.L.Bellini (83) on Thurs.; Brazil's first captain to raise the World Cup triumph in 1958.

Good luck to the remaining teams..

To me it looked like Brazil would move the ball, pass, dribble, pass, and whenever Germany had seen enough, one of them would simply swat the ball away.

Met up with a couple guys who know soccer as well as anyone, and they spoke in single word descriptions of the game: terrible, horrible, embarrassment, ridiculous...

It was voyeuristic horror watching this game. Brazil was with out even doing a half decent job at defence. At times not even bothering to guard German players. Germany just had their way with them. So horrible.

Germany v Argentina is my idea of a final from hell - the two teams that England dislike the most, in terms of past competitions.

I think... Netherlands may give Germany a harder fight tho, so that's what I'd like to see.

For the half-time talk, Scolari should've taken all the pressure off Brazil - 'it's too late for damage limitation - just throw caution to the wind, have fun, be spontanaeous, and play like Italy. The Germans find that style of play hard to handle - and can't deal with anything that's completely unexpected and beyond logic' lol. Might have worked better? haha

Propably it would have helped if scolari would have told them so... but that isnt him - he works with emotions. Even in the halftime, he propably would have told them something like "we have lost, but now show your nation and neymar that we are worth being in the half finals. Give the 200mil people hope back for 2018... bla bla bla" - btw, germany doesnt has a priblem with unuseual style if football, bzt with a team that has 9 men in the defence and wait for conters. Something italy does near to perfection. (I hate them)

Netherlands will defenetly give germany a harder fight - argentina plays way more defence as the netherlands, but i guess germany will have problems with long balls on the fast robben. Useually germanys defence is close to the middle line. This gives robben mutch of space...

But now, dont think of a final ger : neth , but of a small final bra : arg - this hame will be of so mutch emotions and hate, it will look like war

True.

Lack of planning and strategy is a failure common to both Brazil and England - we need managers able to plan logically, and ruthlessly - removing obstacles to winning. Emotion is only useful if it's used to back up sensible plans, imo.

acht mon
theres always time for deep sympathy for a losing side, coach players certainly not there day
be it Brazil less than 24 hours ago, or England 5 years and counting ..
still think the ref made 7 wrong calls, as they often tend to do duh!
refresher ..

Brazil trailed Germany 1-0 with 22 minutes gone in its World Cup soccer semifinal. Seven minutes later, the host nation’s bid to win a record-extending sixth title was over after it had allowed four more goals.

GO!!! Argentina ..
remember the Alamo .. or that lady Eva .. or the Malvinas, hopefully prefer not a all Euro final
and
dare i post in contrast from last night, a beautiful game also, despite the obvious dangers .. a change

Defenetly go argentina :biggrin1:

And this game shows why germans want argentina insted of netherlands - both teams have a very defence tactics, but while nearly all argentinians move forward, as soon as they have the ball and attack, do the netherlands stay with 6/7 players always near their goal and only 3 max 4 players move with the ball to the opponent goal.

Its an interesting game, when its about tactics. But the technical quality is bad - thats surprising, they can do better

very pleasant viewing evenly matched?
NZ Tab has had Argentina the Fav thruout, interesting ..

am still not game enuf to put 10@4 on them tho haha

IF it ends up a shootout, suppose the Neds may take it? grrrrr ..
