I unfortunately haven't had the good luck side of things when I met guys on craigslist. The one guy I met appeared to be cool. I've been lucky to never have had any really bad experiences. Although I do get nervous like you before I meet the person. The worst has been guys who don't understand when you tell them you don't want to meet up a 2nd time. I made the mistake of giving one guy my phone number and got numerous texts for a while begging for a 2nd chance. You should be able to figure out within a dozen messages if they are real and into you. I always transition to text, that weeds out another huge number of flakes. Then after a bit of text real life meet.
