Youth Hostels with Communal Showers

YMCA West New York Hostel – Review

The hostel showers leave a lot to be desired. Some have frosted glass doors that offer almost maximum privacy, while others just have basic solid shower curtains. Everyone ends up undressing inside shower. sucks

The rooms themselves are bare-bones and feel pretty bleak—not the most uplifting environment. It also doesn’t have the social vibe you might expect from a typical hostel.

On the plus side, the gym facilities are solid. The showers, steam room, and sauna in the fitness area are well-maintained. Most people use them nude, and while the crowd is generally older/elderly, about 40% seem to be there for more than just relaxation.

I saw one hot guy showering in the 3 nights i was there.

As far as NYC hostels i would choose a different place than this.

Does anyone have experience with Dublin hostels? Staying at Abb Court for a few nights in June.
Have stayed in male rooms in other hostels in the past with good experiences, guys chilling naked, chatting, showering and it not being a big deal. Hoping for the same sort of experience.
I'm visiting Dublin myself in June. Message me privately for details and chat

Some details while travelling in Asia recently:

South Korea:

Seoul - Bluedot Poshtel, but I think it was pretty low season as it was just before cherry blossoms. It does have potential though: male rooms, showers only curtained and requires you to get naked before stepping behind the curtain, and nude spa/sauna room with showers

Busan - Blueboat Hostel Haeundae, male only room, shower is frosted glass, also requires you to be naked before stepping in, saw maybe 1/2 guys in the bathroom (only saw butts) - again, has potential if peak season, as my room only had 1 other guest.

Gyeongju - Blueboat Hostel Gyeongju, pretty much the same as above, only 2 showers, but also frosted, of the 2, there is a bigger one that does allow people to keep their clothes inside the cubicle, so they won't need to get naked before stepping into the shower.

Taiwan:

Taipei - miniinn, this is basically a hostel for cruising, I made the mistake of booking this place for 4 nights instead of 1 or 2, because it's not a great hostel, and it's mostly locals booking in for a night to get fucked/wanked/blown and they check out the next day. I booked the double bed thinking that it'll be more comfortable, but I think the beds have been through so much, the springs were lumpy. If I were to go back, 2 nights max, in a single bed dorm room. I honestly don't know how a straight man without any knowledge of the place would feel if they booked a male dorm there, because it's not discreet at all. I found it quite intense, so not for me, but I know some people here would love it.

Indonesia:

Bali - Laki Uma Villa is a gay hostel, you can walk around nude, and in the dorm room there's a shower right next to the beds, pretty relaxed, but was quite empty when I was there at the end of April, I think you'll find mostly older people there

Japan:

Tokyo - with my experience in miniinn, I didn't want to stay at Adonis or any places that is known for cruising, but I stayed at Cafe/Minimal Hotel Our Our which has an onsen, which I used every night at around 8/8:30 and saw some hot guys nude - they were mostly straight. The gay area is in Shinjuku, so if you prefer a more cruisy vibe, you'll probably have more luck going with a capsule hotel around there, but I just want to chill nude.

Thanks for all the info! I'm going to Laki Uma Villa in late June (just before they close for remodeling), so I hope they're a little busier when I'm there, because it looks like a very fun setup.
