Bully for the bullies? BULLSHIT!!!

I have got to tell you, the internet now has 2nd to one on bullies next to the workplace.
Get this; I'm working my ass off last sunday, trying to keep everything in shape and put away. I step away for a second(Call of nature and thirst afterwards!) and come back only to hear from one of the other guys I work with that a supervisor from another dept has come in, dissatisfied over my lack of keeping our section intact and kept together and is practically ordering ME to get it together disrespectful like.

Afterwards I'm outraged and mentally flipping out, thinking, :wtf::confused: Who is this jagoff that he comes over and starts bossing me around when he doesn't belong in my section?!

My guys and I are still talking about it, and I just freak, yelling, "I don't give two shits what he likes and don't likes!!!" or, " Until that chrome domed cretin is listed as our supervisor, in our dept, he can get fucked!!" Then I hear from one of the guys that he's writing me up for the dept in disarray, I really go apeshit, pull my dept head aside into an empty office and lay everything out.

Well, he tells me dept heads in retail are what the mafia refers to as sotto capis, that is to say to a lesser degree, they are almost managers but not really. we discuss the problem, and conclude that both of us find this idiot's ravings is horseshit. I also mention that if he even writes me up, I'd file a complaint with regional HR.

Well, later on, the actual assistant manager & I discuss it again, and find that this guy's got a problem of not handling things respectfully, telling people to get over here NOW. and overstepping his bounds. I tell her that I felt his actions were bullying and unnecessary, threatening write ups.

Since I cannot technically confront him on the sales floor, she chose to talk to him. What I would've wanted to tell the miserable sumbitch to his face might've precipitated a full scale blow up, and possibly got one of us hurt.

I dunno, what would anybody else's reaction been to a workplace bully like this?

Talking to your department head and the assistant manager, as you did, were much better than having a confrontation.

It's a win-win for you, Chuck.

Any kind of confrontation, especially a physical one, would have created problems for you, big time ... even if the other guy actually came out of it, both physically and administratively, worse than you.

I grew up without siblings so I never learned to properly deal with situations like this. I used to really snap. When I was about 20, and not really concerned about keeping my job I referred to one of my managers as a fat lazy fuck because I felt he was pushing me around.

Yeah, well, it isn't exactly like I wouldn't have been able to take him if he instigated a full fledged fight on the floor, considering people say he's got big arms. So do I! Only dif is- I know there's a time & place for everything, and the sales floor isn't it. Trust me when I tell you if he grabbed me, his arm'd be in a shobu technique faster than you could blink.

YES...Unfortunately Chuck I think people are beginning to take even more advantage with this economy...

Yeah, well, the bully in question may have stepped into it this time with someone off work time- I saw him come in with his left arm in a sling.
