Dad appers to be stable. His voice is a lot stronger and he is in good spirits. They still have no clue what caused him to pass out twice last Saturday night. They said it was probably due to a UTI but that just doesn't sound right to me.
Friday morning they released him from the hospital and transferred him to a local rehab facility, where they will be working on getting him to walk again and do things like feed himself, bathe and go to the bathroom on his own. Up until Christmas night he was fairly self-sufficient but after that it was like his body said nope, I'm not moving. It was so weird, because the decline was so abrupt and not gradual. :frown1:
Mom and I are physically and emotionally exhausted from the running back and forth to the hospital. The rehab center is even farther away; but we are so grateful they realized he needed physical therapy. Don't get me wrong we love him immensely but it is a physical strain on us to have to lift and half drag/half carry him to the bathroom.
Dad is a big man, 6'2" and about 225. Mom is only 5'3" and arthritic so to say that it is difficult for the two of us to move him is putting it mildly.
He has decent insurance through so he can stay at the physical rehab center at least 3 weeks.
