Dear John

I think I've just received my first ever "Dear John" letter.

I'm glad it didn't come when I was young and in my prime. I think I would have been utterly crushed. Rejection is far easier to accept when you're allegedly mature.

But it still makes you feel sad ...

I am sure there will be plenty of time for them to regret what they said. Are you sure it was a Dear John?

Sorry that you're sad. At least you got a letter and possibly some closure vs a blow off & being ignored. Were you phased out or was it a surprise? Big Hug!

Not every relationship blooms, and not every bloom matures. But since you made an effort, the sadness is inevitable. Still a lot of garden to tend. And the evidence around you is that you are lovable and loved.

Ugh! That's super sad. I was all happy to come read your thread because I thought you were talking about the movie. Now I'm rather bummed :eek:( I'm sorry things didn't work out with this one, just remember it's his loss!

Thanks everyone for your comments. I have since been assured that the Dear John letter was not what I thought it was. Apparently I read more into it than was actually intended. Echoes of "my salad days" when I was "young and green in judgement"!
