A few men I work with have made comments about James Bond's swimtrunks being "gay". Guys at the gym have commented that they like them but just not that color. I tend to agree with my friends from the gym. Maybe because we are in good shape we don't mind wearing body conscious trunks at the gym or beach. Maybe a darker color would be more masculine?
I wonder if Joe Average will drop his baggy board shorts and wear trunks like that on the beach? I wear tight trunks (better to swim & surf in) and I must admit I enjoy the reaction from people. I wonder if straight American men will lose whatever is holding them back from showing off their bodies. It seems to be if you are straight and you are not a weightlifter, you wear baggy swim trunks.

if american men were to embrace speedos swift military action would be taken against europe for infiltrating our culture of decency.

when did light blue become a gay color? i suspect straight american guys would find his squarecut gay in darker colors too. i think his suit is fucking sexy (but then i'm gay, so i get to say that).

i like wearing squarecuts by a pool or at home (and look quite nice in them i might add), but in more public places i'm afraid i wear trunks like the rest of my hopeless american brethren.

I wear baggy board shorts because they are comfortable.

From what I was able to find on google, his trunks are a little short for my taste but they would show REAL nice as long as nothing fell out the bottom

The reason I wear baggy board shorts is I am tired of being accused of sporting wood at the uni's pool. At home I wear my speedo's or nothing at all.

Those are just the ones I like seeing on a man, and in no way I'd say they are gay, neither judged by their color, nor by their size. Okay, they show the goods pretty clearly, but I think they offer a lot of possibilities to camouflage that, like draping your dick straight up, so it won't stick out quite as much. Let's say, they're a lot more decent than smaller-cut speedos.

On the other hand, I don't like board shorts. Call me a woman ignorant about male issues, but I think those loose, long shorts hide all too much of a male body. Not only the endowment, they even distort the shape of a man's body, and not in a flattering way.

EDIT: I think Daniel Craig's masculinity is settled some notches above Pierce Brosnan's. Screw the fact that he had to be taught playing poker after he had signed his contract for Casino Royale.

Usually the guys that say they are gay shorts or they don't like them are fat and out of shape and not comfortable with their own sexually.
The tighter the better I say but then I'm Bi.
Love to see those big bulges.

Don't care about the COLOR of trunks, just wish I could get my hands on Daniel Craig's nice package nestled inside them! Haha!

In my many travels to Europe (1x a month) i've not really seen too many of the baggy board-shorts on men on the beaches. the 2" or 3" Speedo-cut is the standard. most of my work is in Italy -- where they embrace the human body. Even their daily wear (and in France, Germany, Switzerland, Sweden, Finland) is more snug-fit.

And it makes even then not-so-fit look more fit!

In America we're "trained" to think that the Human Body is a discrace and should be covered.

Baggy over-sized or long-board-shorts make the human body look distorted and out of shape.

Skinny people (men and women) who wear baggy stuff makes them look skinnier! And not in a good way. baggy = insecure.

Fat people who were baggy over-sized clothes look even larger! Form fitting clothes will slim them down. it's a visual fact!

And the board-shorts make the torso look like it's 5' long and the legs are 10". NOT the visual one wants!

I don't get it on the very vain men who work out on their Beautiful Body 7-days a week... then baggy over it!

THE BODY IS BEAUTIFUL... no matter the shape.

my two-cents!

It has come to my ears that one female british critic has commented on Daniel Craig with an innuendo message, saying that the new Bond has quite some balls. Right she is ;-)

Nothing gay about those trunks...watching a marathon of all 20 Bond films here in Hong Kong. Was surprised to see how geeky Sean looked in the blue fleecy thingy he wore in Goldfinger. Check it out...it's laughable.

I saw them.. and, got an instant hard on.
I am going to go see the movie JUST to see that scene.
the critics call him ugly, but, i think he is gorgeous.
I would fuck him.

Critics don't say he's ugly, some are bothered by his muscly appearance, and say his body looks like he worked up too much muscle. They miss the more slender, lean muscly appearance of Sean Connery.

Being a Brazilian, I am always staggered by american prudishness. I take less offense on a 60 y/o granddad here at the beach, sporting swan size balls and a 6" flaccid dick than the regular wal-mart shopping, overweight american women, no make-up and those egrerious rings of fat protruding from their outfits, aghhhhh...

There is a picture of the bond guy in Time magazine in the swimsuit and I do not think he is overly built. His sholders are very big and his chest is well defined. He is in great physical shape.
I'll buy trunks like his and screw whoever at the beach that can't look at my wet package. Maybe I'll buy white.

My opinion exactly, I think he looks very great, athletic and handsome. I love some good, fit musculature on a guy, as long as he still looks like he can move. Daniel Craig is definitely not over-pumped or looks like he overshot his training plan.

Then you have people who say things that, and it help others who think these shorts are gay and are insecure with their body reinforce that belief. If you want more men the wear shit like that, lay off these comments. Yes, extreamly obese people will not (mostly anyway) wear stuff like this because I would think it would be physicaly uncomfortable for them.
