Charities have no obligations to disclose who has given them donations.
The IRS doesn't require it, and it's at the individual charity's discretion. Some publish it, some don't, the ones that do require permission from the person who donated (not just out of courtesy but for GDPR and California privacy laws (which are the de facto privacy laws for the entire US because they are the most restrictive and the internet doesn't have borders)). Many charities decline to disclose regardless because of these same laws, and it's not uncommon with charities that support people who a significant chunk of the US population would rather see denied, ignored, or worse. Charities are also not obligated to answer you if you ask what their policies are.
Frankly it would be more unusual if Trevor Project DID respond to a random person's request for confirmation.
He's got a receipt. He's someone who from what I've seen over the years has been consistently transparent about who he is and what he does or is willing to do, and is very respectful of his fans. It's a bummer that some of his fans don't reciprocate that respect. It's an even bigger bummer that he has to deal with relentless, obsessive, seemingly joyless jackalopes but that's life on the net I suppose.
This thread is nuts.
