Being fit = better erections = better sex life?

Thanks to pwrdick and 51arledge for posting. I am 61 and not nearly in the same shape; but, with an empty nest, i am finding more time to work out. Sex is part of any good exercise regimen.

Anyone have suggestions for activities outside the gym? I am trying rock climbing and ballroom dancing.

And, research shows that one effect of increased testosterone is psychological. Not surprising how many guys express confidence in themselves. Yup.

Rock climbing is great; I wish I had more time for it.
I'm a big proponent of yoga. There are many, many different flavors, almost all of them great but start with something basic.
After 18 years of classes, I just go to my gym and find a quiet corner to do my practice; almost every time a 20-30 year old guy will say, "How the fuck do you do that." Last year 2 young guys who were doing an crunches confessed that they were intimidated.
Yoga keeps me flexible, focused, disciplined, calm and focused on breath.

Stay in the gym routine as steadily as you can - and build up relationships with other guys there to give an additional social incentive to come in on a regular basis. Gym friends spot for each other, provide workout tips, and frankly give each other compliments on how well we are looking and progressing. For those of us who are gay, another positive reinforcement is getting cruised in the showers/locker room....

Outside of the gym I do a lot of work on the farm - turning compost piles by hand, filling wheelbarrows with compost and digging it into garden beds, cutting trees with a handsaw, stacking logs, lugging 50 pound bags of chicken feed, etc. This routine physical work sometimes replaces gym sessions but also provides hard proof of the benefits of staying in shape and able to lift heavy loads without wearing out.

A big upside is our farm's private setting that allows me to do a lot of the chores in the nude when the weather allows it. An outdoor shower follows the farm work and then a jump in the pool to either swim laps or just cool down. 20190925_140028.jpg

Yes, heavy labor outside is a great way to exercise, even better when you can do it nude. I don’t have a farm, but I have done a lot of remedial landscaping on a challenging site over the past 15 years or so (building walls, dams, flower beds, planting trees). I use hand tools wherever possible and genuinely believe that has staved off heart disease, obesity, etc. Winter is a challenge because my caloric output is halved. Hence, the gym.

BTW, I tend toward floor-mat (stretching) and body weight exercises, which is a lazy way to avoid building muscle. After lurking here for a while, I have incorporated more leg and upper body routines with a noticeable difference in libido and other physical benefits. Anecdotal, to be sure, but there you have it.
 
I go for Yoga for sure. I'm getting a lot more to d..I'm already small as is in size so it doesn't take much to build muscle. I noticed at one point I was horny as hell and I didn't know why. All I kept thinking about was getting the life fucked out of me. It was strange. When I started back exercising I started to feel like I need to have sex....it was weird.

For many years, I have believed that keeping fit included keeping a fit well working dick' There has never been any doubt in my mind that the two are really one thing. The ancient Chinese knew this. They devised a whole set of exercises, called Chi Gong, which involve doing a mix of exercises for the body and specifically the genital system

For years the benefits of this dual approach had been very apparent to me. I kept working at a fit body well into my eighties and a dick working well to match. And people would compliment me on both. Until one day about a year ago, I had a stroke. The doctors all told me that I had dodged most of the worst bullets because of my almost obsessive fitness, which also included daily year round lap swimming. Now I am recovering with return to gym work. The dick went flat as a tack (because erection depends on blood supply and that is all fucked up when the heart doesn't keep the blood going to all the body parts that need blood to work) , but a range of PE-type exercises, massage and renewed efforts at wanking, are showing some signs of return to past situation.

Actually my dick is getting a bit better and balls hanging lower and fuller. As well the "urge" creeps back from time to time. With good herbalist advice, I am also taking several herbal supplements for general health and dick function.

So I am sure there is a connection between general male physical heath and dick healthy function. If you think about it, males for thousands of millennia have had to fight other males and also other predators and they had to be fit to deliver their genes to females. Only way they knew how was to be the best fucker in the tribe.

So maybe there is life after death. Ask me at the end of 2021, which thanks to coronavirus looks like being - more so for oldies like me than for horny young gym junkies - to be the hardest year of our lives.

So in addition all the advice being offered by the doctors I can only suggest to workout as often and as well as you can and keep that dick in top working order with frequent use. I don't need to tell y'all how to do that'
 
More muscle = more testosterone.
More testosterone = higher sex drive.
Higher sex drive = better sex.
Better sex = happy everybody!

Don't forget cardio though, no point packing on muscle if you're gonna be out of breath after a few quick intense thrusts

It's a yes for me. Unless you are not training in unehealthy ways that could stress you too much.
 
Nah, too much like hard work. I smoke, eat like a pig. Not a big drinker tho'. None of this has ever affected my performance.

The closest I get to exercise is plenty of hard fucking. And that is something I am objectively good at. ;)

I’m an observer and joyful recipient of the benefit of my partner going into backpacking training, and post trip, and seeing him at his least toned (a hernia surgery topped with a fall and broken leg the next morning really messes up one’s plans),
I can confirm that about a week of increased walking had enough impact on erection/endurance to be noticed. months in and he might be able to tire me out. And he is north of 65.

FWIW, I feel better, and that plays into my own libido and endurance.

All I do for legs are hindu squats and cardio helps, I wanna buy a treadmill cuz my new gym sucks and is 30 mins away. But training in general keeps u going

Test and cialis are king though. If your testosterone levels are shit, nothing is really gonna help u, no matter what the "Mens health workout" sites etc and herbal companies wanna tell u
 
In my experience it's true. The overall improvement in fitness goes all the way to sexual fitness. I had better erection, was able to maintain it better, and stamina was better.

I lost my discipline and stopped working out, which is a damn shame, and the effect on my sexual fitness is very evident.

When you're healthy it positively affects all aspect of your life. When your health declines, it adversely affect all aspect as well.

And then after that one time I was pissing and some odor wafted towards me... it smelled bad.

I knew I had to straighten up and slim down. Now I'm 43 and in the best shape of my life. Keto for the past 4 years and I workout almost every day. Run, lift. HIIT workouts.

Props to u for that. Keto takes a lotta discipline, I've never been able to keep it going for super long. Usually just used it to take off 20-30 lbs over a few months and then gradually ease back into a moderate carb intake

Nowadays when i wanna cut i use a 12-week progressive lower carb program.

100 grams carbs for 4 weeks
75 grams carbs for 4 weeks
50 grams carbs for 4 weeks

Weights 4x/week with 15 mins steady state treadmill after weights on 2 of those days
Shadowboxing 3 mins then, 3-4 rounds on my heavy bag, and finish with 100 Hindu squats 2x/week

Usually sheds the 20 or so lbs in 12 weeks without torturing myself lol
