Charlie Barnett From Chicago Fire

We can't deny racism is an issue that affects many Black shows and actors/actresses in the industry even today or that there's sadly racism even in the science fiction fan community.
But the reality is that The Acolyte was poorly written and just the latest example of Disney mishandling the Star Wars franchise (don't even get me started on the last three movies.)
Not a surprise it got canceled.
Anyway..best of luck to Charlie in his next roles.
So many other Star Wars shows especially recently have been poorly written and are still continuing Disney gave into the racist trolls online who was against the acolyte from the very start and that’s sad in my opinion but not surprising

No race definitely played a significant factor the trolls made it so as they always do but Disney gave into them like they always do with Star Wars for some reason and even now with mcu
Both of these things can be true at the same time and have contributed to the cancellation. Racism, the backlash against perceived “wokeness,” the arrogance of the showrunner, the manchildren dude bro “fans” throwing a tantrum because all they saw was another female protagonist or “girl boss” as they call it, and god knows what else all played a part in this. And frankly, as others have said, it just wasn’t that good.

Show never stood a chance

Not to mention that the greedy cretins in charge of Disney -as with almost all TV execs lately- refuse to give any time for new shows to develop and grow. They just want their profit NOW, and if the viewership numbers don't come in high enough right off the bat then these incompetent halfwits simply pull the plug.

There are plenty of critically acclaimed shows which have run for multiple seasons yet had lacklustre first and even second seasons, but if these utter shitstains had had their way they'd have never gotten off the ground.

That's the biggest issue these days.
If a show isn't successful right away, they will just cancel it.
