he's got a killer face, but the bod....not so much
and he was supposed to have been a big jock in college.
You have very high standards. If I saw him at the beach or at the gym I would totally cruise him. Not every actor needs to be Hugh Jackman, Mario Lopez, or Jake Gyllenhaal to be fine. I am fine with a slim, trim, athletic but not bulging body anyday.
I knew i'd get ripped for saying anyting the least bit critical.
i dont' think I have high standards trust me, I just think celebrities should be held to a higher standard, i mean c'mon if you're getting paid $20M for 6wks to make a movie the least u can do is give us our money's worth. pine isn't just the average dude at the beach or on the street, so those rules of attraction don't apply.
and for the record i dont find mario that hot, he's got a nice bod but the person inside doesnt' interest me that much. same with hugh, i think alot of his celebrity comes from the superficial side, ya he's got other talents but would he be pulling down the big $$$ if he hadn't put alot of effort into his body? and he's 40, takes ALOT more effort to get that than pine would have to do.
In those pics (and i emphasize that because I've seen other clips of him that make him look alot more fit, more recent maybe?) pine looks a little soft and has skinny legs, i'm sure he could rip it up a little (and i dont' mean built like a body builder, slim & trim is fine, but some definition wouldn't be a bad thing either) with a few wks in the gym, I mean he's totally fine for an average dude next door, and even in those pics i'd go for him, but part of what he gets paid for is his appearance, he IS in the business of pimpin himself & his bod, so i like to see some effort that's all i was trying to say.

The Chris Pine pics were taken this past Tuesday, May 5, in LA. And not to be nitpicky but only to clarify the record, Mario Lopez is 35, not 40.
then i stand by my original statement he should be in better shape after filming star trek. maybe the hotter pics i saw were when he was younger and in college or something.
and i was talking about hugh jackman being 40,
i said mario wasnt' exatly my type but then i switched over to hugh being paid for his body

Well, your brain seems just as fine as the rest of your bod to me since I usually agree with most everything you say--rants and all. You have a lot of common sense and sometimes that's a rare commodity around here.
Sorry about the Mario/Hugh mix-up....when I reread it, I saw where you were going. Here's an "act of contrition" photo array of Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto--both clothed, so there won't be any dispute about soft-looking bods, and some nice large HD portrait pics. I suspect most of us can agree that they're both very hot-lookin' boyz!!

Shouldn't the actors be giving us our money's worth in, oh, i dunno, acting? I'd much rather see a scrawny, normal looking actor give us an outstanding performance than see some no brain jock bulge for 2 hours and murder every line that comes out of his mouth. I think you're mixing up movies and porn there a bit.

The acting's pretty good, for Star Trek, and he appears more ripped than in the shots posted here. There are scenes of him in boxer briefs and in some tight uniforms where he sports a decent bulge too.
I don't think he's that attractive though - maybe its all the close-ups of his acne scars in the film that've put me off!

Well they did finish principal filming months ago. I imagine he wouldn't bother doing rigorous training unless he's being paid for it. :biggrin1:
that wouldn't really bother me, i'm not a fan of perfect model pretty boys anyway, that might actually go in the + column.
i noticed he always has a little scruff goin on that works for me too.

Ya, the guy looks unimpressive in everyday shots. When you've got a million dollar project and tons of crew members to pretty you up and make you look good, it makes sense.
The sad thing is that this guy seems about as deep as a box of rocks. I thought he could just rely on his "good looks", but seeing shots like those, I stand corrected. I bet his career will peter out sooner rather then later.
Now Quinto, that's an interesting guy.
