I was having a playful disagreement with friends about how most guys like their coffee. Can you all help settle this in a totally non-scientific poll?
Thanks :):emoji_coffee:

Your poll is flawed. Milk and Cream are not the same thing. I take my coffee with cream, not milk. :emoji_coffee:and NO SUGAR.
Ditto; must be 1/2 and 1/2. Only Milk? I'll skip the coffee, thank you.

I'm an ex barista. 9 years.

Do you really want me to go there??:imp:

Jokes aside, I like my coffee literally every way described in the poll and about a million other combinations.

I got spoiled, not gonna lie... And I like variety.

Freshly ground beans, filtered water, 15 bar, black like engine oil with crema, unadulterated with cow juice...I'm not serious about many things, but don't mess with my coffee.

BTW, Italians understand and do coffee right. Most other Europeans copied them. American 'coffee' is mostly far too watery, weird, and not usually very nice.

I know folks at work who fill their Styrofoam cup halfway with "creamer", another quarter with sugar, then add just enough coffee to dissolve the above. Philistines, the lot of em.

Me? For everyday drinking, gimme lawsuit hot and battery acid black. For leisurely conversation with friends, I'll do the occasional froufrou coffee beverage.

That's why the drink the "Americano" exists.

During WW2 our soldiers wanted something not so strong, because they weren't used to the espresso style coffee. So they just watered it down to recreate the drip coffee they were used to at home.

My other half is like you--dark dark coffee, smells so deep and strong when he brews it.

I'm late to the coffee game. I didn't start drinking coffee at all until a few years after I met Hubby. Close to 30 probably. I could not drink what he brewed. I tried a cup with breakfast while on vacation and who knew? It's the American water-downed coffee that I like!

What about women?
I'd love to hear from you all! My friends kept acting like guys and women approached coffee differently which, in my experience, seems like ridiculous stereotyping. I just roll my eyes when someone goes on a "black coffee is more masculine" rant.

I prefer homemade cappuccinos with no sugar.

If I’m drinking regular coffee, I have it with whatever milk/cream/half&half is available.

If it’s bad coffee, I add sugar with the milk/cream.

I quit drinking coffee two weeks ago today. Went to tea. Will probably go back to coffee Monday. I'm bi-caffinated. Little dairy and sugar in both tea or coffee.

Bi Sexual or Bi Cafinated X

I only drink coffee at home on the weekends, then it is a drip machine. Sugar and powdered vanilla flavored non dairy creamer

During the week, I grab coffee from the coffee guy at the corner cart. Then it is just a New York Light and Sweet ( milk - Sugar )

I almost bet the crap out of a guy in a gas station near a job site that had coffee. HE was mixing coffee, then drinking it down to add additional flavor / sugar to it. then sip and tweak it more. All this while a line of people were waiting to grab and go

New Yorkers are not known for our patience

Well, I drink my coffee black. I like to taste the actual coffee!

P.S. I think Starbucks coffee is awful.
I agree, it is awful. I'm frankly baffled by their success. In addition, when traveling I always want to get a sense of the place I'm working or visiting. Independent coffee and tea shops are great for that. Starbucks is the antithesis of that.

A side note: I knew a woman who designed furniture for Starbucks' interiors team. She explained that they were tasked to create visually inviting spaces but made sure the chairs were uncomfortable enough to discourage anyone staying too long.
