IMO, ever since he came out of the closet he’s not as sexy to me. He’s looking and acting more feminine now and that’s a huge turn off.

Not sure coming out was entirely responsible. He got his big break on a Jeff Davis show, jumped ship almost right away to a Greg Berlanti show, and then left again to a Ryan Murphy show. All three gay showrunners who knew the value of his sex appeal, but he's shown he doesn't tend stick around in one place for very long. If you're a showrunner then what's the draw in adding him to your cast if he's just going to leave after a year or two?
No, ya I agree. It wasn’t necessarily his coming out that didn’t get him jobs. He just seemed to not be able to keep a job. They used him for his sex appeal, and arguably it’s gone downhill as of late. He’s also not the best actor so I’m sure that lends a hand too. But his husband seems to make good money with decorating Oscar parties with an abundance of flowers.
i'm not even sure he's acting rn. i think he said he paused his acting career because of his mom's illness. and now that she passed aways he'll probably keep it on pause for a while longer until he gets called by murphy for a quick cameo on a few episodes of his show.
if i was a producer, knowing his habit of quitting a show after 2 seasons, i wouldn't want to cast him, or at least not for anything that was important to the main story, because then i'd have to be finding workarounds for his character leaving and the impact it'd have on the rest of the show, so he'd just be a background character that gets little to no development in order to avoid the plot mess him leaving would cause

That is so sad that his mother died. They seemed close. Do you know what her illness? I think he still has demons to work through. I don’t think he’s 100% comfortable with himself which is sad, and it comes through in his acting. With that said, a quick IMDb search shows he has work ahead. Not sure how major or minor the roles are.

He has anxiety. He's struggled with it his whole life. It's why he doesn't commit to a role for very long.
probably a small role. like in that movie with the rock where he had like 5 minutes of screen time. or that one where he's a stripper at a bachelorette party
plenty of people, including actors, have anxiety. there's even people with severe cases of it that lead completely normal lives, because they go to therapy and/or are properly medicated for it.
and iirc colton said being in the closet was the thing that caused his severe anxiety. he's not in the closet anymore.
i also don't fully trust the things he said in the interviews about his anxiety and coming out, because he'd be talking about being in vancouver filming arrow, dealing with his anxiety, feeling homesick and becoming physically ill from it and just wanting to go back home to be with his parents and siblings, but then you look at his social media from that time and he was always travelling to tropical paradises on holiday, and never with his family
Girl I agree with everything you just said. A very good percentage of actors have anxiety, it’s sad but the truth. Most of these real actors have dealt with a lot of shit in their lives but if they wanna be successful they need to overcome that stuff. I really don’t believe what he says most of the time. For me it all goes back to when he was saying he wasn’t gay and that whole magazine scandal happened and he was having his lawyers go after people and using scare tactics. He wants to be in control of the narrative, sorry but not when your lying.
