when he said he's just coming to grips with his sexuality- remember, in 2012, he was following Tom Daley on twitter or Instagram....when people questioned this, defenders said, 'Maybe he's just into diving....' well- he wasn't following David Boudia- the American who won the gold in 2012 Olympics- beating Tom....following the American diver would have been the Patriotic thing for a US Congressman 'into' diving.

The man is a conman and crook. Rod Blagojevich with abs. Don’t believe anything that comes out of his mouth.

Thanks for the life tip, salty anonymous forum queen.

MAGA

Without fail, any time I'm left scratching my head at weird rationales, faults of logic, and obvious projection, the "MAGA" comes and clears things right up.

Schock is a hot, ridiculously corrupt, self-hating traitor to his community, and the integrity-bankrupt gays will no doubt bend over backwards to get a piece of that adonis ass.

From someone who was confused, never in his mind that he will be gay; showing the hate rather than understanding is not how you make friends but rather burning bridges.

Dont be the oppressor because you were oppressed. Be the change, dont let hatred cloud your judgement

If he publicly apologizes and accepts responsibility for the past harm he directly caused then we can begin to talk about forgiveness and acceptance. But not before that happens.

Past harm yes, but we live in 2019. Homosexuals are equal. What will the past do to you now?

Yes he needs to apologize but judging someones past doesnt seem right.

Will a criminal be a forever criminal because of his past? Of course not.

Like what ive said dont be the oppressor.

EQUAL. RIGHT.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

This is not a true statement. Homosexuals are not equal. My life experience is the reason I stay focused on equality for ALL. Regardless of sexual orientation. Or your sex. Or your ethnicity. Or the color of your skin. Shall I go on?

I don't know what your news sources are in the Philippines, but the variety of media sources I peruse clearly DO NOT SUPPORT your statement. Period.

Yes he needs to apologize but judging someones past doesnt seem right.

Only Mr. Schrock can/will decide what it is he needs to do. An apology would be a good start. I would be more impressed if he were to walk that talk. Volunteer in the gay community. Work to help that community upon which he shat on for so many years.

Someones past will always be part of their history. It's what they do in the present and going forward that will determine how they will be judged for their past. Right now Mr. Schock doesn't seem to be doing much to address his past behavior toward the LGBTQ community. I've yet to read any statement from him that he regrets this past behavior.

Perhaps he does regret being duplicitous, but again, I've yet to see any evidence of that. And until I do, I will believe him to be a self-loathing homosexual who, for whatever reasons, sold his soul for a political career. And that makes me sad. Especially for him.

Will a criminal be a forever criminal because of his past? Of course not.

A criminal will forever be a criminal. That's a fact. It's what that person does AFTER being caught/incarcerated that will determine how they will be judged going forward. There are criminals who change; there are those who do not. And let's now forget that Mr. Schock resigned his Congressional seat in disgrace. And IIRC, it had nothing to do with his public stance on gay rights. It had everything to do with avoiding a Congressional inquiry into his questionable relationship with taxpayer's money.

Like what ive said dont be the oppressor.

I find it rather ironic that one would make a statement about oppressing an oppressor.

I do know that people can forgive past actions. Or at least I can. But that doesn't mean that we will forget. Quite the contrary. Especially IF said person continues to comport himself as if he's clueless about his actions. Mr. Schock may be a lot of things. But he is not stupid. In fact, I'd say he is rather clever. He played the game necessary to get himself elected to Congress.

But the house of cards upon which he and his career were built collapsed. And said collapse had nothing to do with his anti-homosexual voting record. It was, once again, all about the money.

It would behoove all of us, not just Mr. Schrock, to think about his current situation as well as reflect on his past using the head above our/his shoulders. Instead, he, and a few others here, seem to feel that because he's "hot", he gets some kind of hall pass. While I can appreciate a "hottie", I just can't get past what's underneath the physical package. And that's why until Mr. Schrock addresses his failings, he will continue to to struggle.

That doesn't mean that some folks won't continue to want to see his nude pix and whatnot. I'm just not one of them. Because for me, a person's true beauty is within; what I know of Mr. Scrock is that his insides are no where close to being attractive. At all. Which makes me not interested in his physical beauty. But again, that's ME.

Since you identify as a 100% straight female and wouldn’t have been affected by his anti-gay voting record even if you lived in the U.S., you really need to stop telling gay men how to feel about him and how they should be reacting to his exposed hypocrisy. You have no stake in any of this.

Also, it is completely fine to judge someone for their past if they have not apologized or tried to make amends for it.

In retrospect that was harsh. Apologies.
No, it wasn’t. By her logic, a murderer or rapist is no longer a murderer or rapist if it’s in the past, even if they have shown no remorse and done nothing to try to make amends. She is incredibly stupid and obviously doesn’t think things through.

We are allowed marriage equality- but that's all- in 29 states, it's perfectly legal to refuse to hire a person known to be LGBT and to fire them if you discover it. You can get married one week, return from your honeymoon the next, put a pic of your spouse on your desk and get fired that day. And Schock is part of the reason we still have those laws- as part of the Republican held majority in the House, they blocked ENDA- (Employment Non Discrimination Act) several times. Schock voted against it w/ Republican majority, so his betrayal STILL affects about 2/3 of LGBT people out there TODAY.
