My cousin is a Mormon - Yes there are some people in the Netherlands who get sucked in to that stuff. I'll be willing to bet you that even though David is 18, his father is still along as his "minder."

It isn't that the kids are such fanatical believers, it's the social pressure on the family or parents that's the important item. If junior doesn't conform, then the parents are socially disgraced in their Mormon society - and that society is their social life. Daddy Archuleta is along now to be sure young David stays on the Mormon straight and narrow.

I watched that final show and the vibes I got was that both David Cook and David Archuleta were an item. My gaydar went nuts, Cook and Archuleta were way past occassional touchy-feely. Now wheher daddy Arculeta noticed is anyone's guess, but I don't think he's that naive.

Now my cousin went to the Mormon University in Utah, BYU, and he said homosexuality was very common amongst the "faithful" students. I don't beieve for a minute that David isn't aware of his sexuality and which way he swings. My cousin told me that there are all sorts of gay Mormons and the Church takes all kinds of measures to cover this up.

WTF guys, I mean come on! This kid is only 18 yo. He seems sweet and very innocent, when that is gone for him it is a whole different world. Let him get through this stage of his life, even if it is his Mormon trek overseas. If he is str8, then good for him and if he is gay, he'll figure it out and deal with it when HE is ready not when some fool on LPSG says he should. He is obviously very bright but seems to have led a sheltered life thus far (like most Mormon teens do) so let him explore the world and life, at his pace, not the pace of some cock crazed LPSG wannabe. Sorry for venting but man, leave this kid alone already!!! In a crazy world like this it is rather refreshing to see such innocence.
