Well... you can't just ignore the fact that his income relied heavily on Christmas tours before coming out. Somehow the 45+ white women who used to drool over him are still loyal after all. They used to giveaway copies of everything David was releasing at the moment to everyone who asked on his fansite comment section, with international tracked shipping. They used to travel the country and watch his show multiple times and meet. They got the coin.

I can't see the newly targeted "yas gawd sabrina carpenter creme brulee shirtless dance" demographics spending money to see live renditions of Ave Maria and Crush with that same arrangement of 18 years ago, so...

In his memoir he spoke of how important to him Christmastime has always been, and after coming out and leaving the Mormon church there was likely a strain on that ability to cherish the season in the same way, so I’m happy for him if he is learning to reclaim some joy around that, and make some money along the way as well.
