Wtf wet chicken lol what does a wet chicken even smell like to begin with?

Never had a feather bed or pillow that you washed? That's how it smells. Pretty nasty.
But actually........wet birds/chickens (alive of course) don't smell a whole lot. They take care of their feathers so they don't even really get wet to begin with.

But I have to agree: Our smell depends a whole lot on what we eat.
And people that eat meat smell different from Vegetarians too.

I will go further and say that among Caucasians, there is often a similarity of natural body scent amongst people who have similar coloring. Also, some people, even fresh from a shower, have a naturally strong body scent.

Such an interesting topic! I think most people don't even realise they have a scent. I think I smell neutral. I smell like skin.

yea... i work in retail and there are many races that comin the store and they all have a certain smell....Most Indians and Asians ive come acress have a real strong bad smell to them....

I'm not into choosing a guy I date according to his race. But I noticed that guys of different races smell differently and I don't go for some of these smells as much as I do go for others.

Have anyone else noticed this? I know that colour is only skin deep...but is it really? Different races equals different scents, and even different tastes.

Those who have dated people of different races, have you noticed that it's almost like there are scents according to the different races? I'd like to hear some of your take on this, especially those with experience.:redface:

Each PERSON has a unique base scent. This smell can vary based on hydration and diet, but not by too much (like smelling of beer the day after having a lot and showering and then sweating). Also, someone's pits, crotch and chest will smell differently due to sweat and pheromones.

I have never noticed any connection between race and natural scent.

I've noticed that black and asian women smell and taste differently, but it certainly could be due to diet.

the only guy with a scent i can remember is an old boyfriend of mine. he's black and the smell was something i was absolutely disgusted when i first went down on him. it was either in his armpits or in his pubes, i don't remember, but it was a smell i distinctly remember (him being my first love, and scent being the strongest sense tied to memory). after a while i eventually got used to it, and even started liking it...

i thought it was just him, but a week later, i remember playing in a co-ed volleyball game. our team was huddled for a pep talk. the coach was talking about something, when i smelled that same smell again, and i looked around to find him, but he was nowhere near me. i looked next to me and there was this sweaty black girl with the exact same scent.

so, i don't know if it's enough to generalize.. but i think black people have a distinct smell, when they haven't showered (as i realize any race can have).

It makes perfect sense, "PC" or not. It's the truth. Different genetic makeup = different scents (among other things).

I find that health plays a big part of a person's scent. Someone who doesn't drink anything but alcohol or pop and eats only junk food smells horrible to me. A man who eats a well-balanced diet smells best. And vegetarians don't smell different to me - unless they eat a lot of curry, in which case I am not sticking around to smell anything

My olfactory / pheromonal preference, from my particular experience, is Dutch guys. They smell heavenly :smile:

Scent is an extremely powerful stimulant and deterrent to me. I never wear colognes myself but depend on shampoos, soaps and creams to emit a clean smell. Deodorants are the most difficult because so many of them I become allergic to after a week or so wearing them. I discovered "Thai Mineral Deodorant" which has no scent but does not break me out and is extremely effective in preventing odors.

The most powerful female scent is clean skin that has been in the sun for an hour or more. It's better than Viagra!

A palestinean girl I used to date smelled almost incense-like when I ate her out, it was something different than I've experienced with other women, though they all smelled slightly different. I've had mostly white women, but the relatively few non-whites I've been with didn't smell very differently from them. That palestinian was the most different.

Turning out to be a very interesting topic indeed. I actually asked this because I've made out with black guys and white guys and their scents were different, but almost specific to race.

Note that I've used the word 'scent' as opposed to 'smell'.:biggrin1:

Recently I had a discussion with a friend about race-related scents and she told me that Asians (mainly Chinese) had the best scent. I asked her what she meant by that and she said "well, they don't have a scent so they're the best".

I remember reading on a site (can't remember if it's this one) where this person wanted to date Caucasian women only because he was most familiar with their scent.

I do believe in the "you are what you eat" saying. It would be interesting to experiment with scents and races by getting everyone to eat the same thing and then compare their scents.

Apocrine glands are what give people the strong (BO) smell when they sweat. The main difference is that people who have East Asian and Northeast Asian heritage (and this includes a lot of North American native peoples) have fewer, inactive or no apocrine glands (Koreans having the least.) That's why - the only reason why - almost all Koreans and Japanese, the vast majority of Chinese, and many others don't need to use deodorants.

Having said that, other factors such as diet, overall health, amount of body hair, age, mood and hygiene affect one's natural body odor, but it is the presence or absence of apocrine glands that makes the biggest difference amongst the various so-called races in this respect.

I agree. I also read in an anthropology book that some races have less sweat glands (namely Asians and Amerindians). By the way, it's not just *NORTH* American Indians, it's American Indians in general. Amerinds are one of the (if not THE) least genetically diverse Race there is. All Amerinds have the same origin too, in Siberia. Being of Brazilian Amerind heritage, I am bothered when people in North American suggest that their Indians are racially different from the rest. They aren't. Indians, just like Asians, vary in superficial traits such as height (in fact, we Amazonian natives look more 'mongoloid' than our North American counterparts - see picture) but nonetheless, Amerinds are a very non-diverse Race.

Anyway, I am predominantly White of Russian/Italian descent but I still don't think I sweat a whole lot. What I did notice, however, is that my dad has no body hair whatsoever. Not even much facial hair, I probably have more body hair than he does (i.e. I notice more fuzz on my forearms) obviously coming from the White side LOL

During the Viet nam war, soldiers who needed to go through the jungle undetected would eat all locally prepared food so that they couldn't be smelled by the enemy. It's all very true. We are (smell like ) what we eat.

I also read that the ones who survived longer, didn't use deodourant, clean their teeth so they were minty fresh and wash using scented soap either. It was a nasty learning curve. Smell nice and get shot, or blend in and survive. The vietnamese people could smell the americans long before they heard or saw them.

My experience has been the darker the pigmentation the stronger the smell. My theory has been when evolving in milder climates where you spend more time outdoors people evolved more scent and less if harsher climates forced them indoors.

Yes but i wouldnt say due to sweat etc but my 3rd husband was Jamacian and he smelled of coconut but it was the due to the lovely lotion he put on his hair.

Husband 1 and 2 were both caucasian and both smelled different to eachother.....one of RARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR (sexy) and the other smelled like baby talc,why i dunno as we didnt have a baby or baby talc

I've noticed similar things. I am attracted to the way that white guys smell more than any other race. And within that, each one is unique. Side story: one of the most intoxicating scents comes from one of my roommates - causes awkward thoughts in my head. But, I dated a black guy that I could not stand his natural smell. When things got hot and bothered I didn't notice as much, but I mainly had to be spooned in order to cuddle because the smell was not pleasant to me. I have noticed it with others too. This is an interesting topic. I have to say I agree all in all.
