Does Anyone Cheat

Ok, you're not Amish for crying out loud! It's not like you're milking your own cow.

Are you?!

Oh no... I'm not even Amish-ish! But I have a Meyer lemon tree and a small patch of pineapple and lilykoi in my yard... my neighbor has avocado and tomatoes growing. The rest comes from the farmers market and/or Costco and Safeway.

play-dough recipe

1 cup white flour
1/2 cup salt
2 tablespoon cream of tartar (find it in the spice section)
1 tablespoon oil
1 cup water
food coloring

Mix first 4 ingredients in a pan. Add water and mix well. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, for 3 – 5 minutes. Dough will become difficult to stir and form a “clump”. Remove from stove and knead for 5 minutes–add food coloring during kneading process. Play dough will keep for a long time stored in a covered plastic container or plastic sandwich bag.

:tongue1:

If you're using anything besides your bare hands and fire it's totally processed as a food and not home made. :p

I also second buying puff pastry, so much easier.

Ain't that usually how it goes? "if not an artist, then a critic?"

I don't really do much in the way of baking, and I can usually go far with pretty simple ingredients (grains, veggies, meat, legumes) that I can get freshly harvested/slaughtered. I do cheat on pasta - I just don't have the space or equipment to make my own, but I do get fresh pasta.
