1) Are some of us hooked on it?

2) Does it make the site more interesting?

3) Is it constructive or destructive?

4) With the cross section of society here-represented can we expect any thread which degenerates into high drama to remain respectful and polite?

I'm interested to know whether the posters are enjoying those two shall we say "lively" threads so topical just now...

1 - Yes
2 - Yes, but only because of the "car-wreck" factor that you mentioned.
3 - Yes. (Meaning I choose not to give a direct answer)
4 - Not a chance

Ditto.

I'll actually add though, in response to 2, that this stuff can actually add tension and stress. Ok, ok, I know it's just the internet, and not real life, but when I hit the sack last night I was so knotted up it took me three hours to get to sleep.

I think eventually it will become yesterday's
news Stronzo but people seem to need to
hash it out for a bit longer.

If it was still going in another few weeks
I'd say it was a case of beating a dead
horse.

Some days there are lots of other interesting
topics on the board to discuss...we haven't
had anyone come forward in a day or two
with a dual indentity though...tsk, tsk.

Eh, I dont get drawn into such things so easily. I pretty much take everything here face value, though there are some very cool people here I like exchanging quips with, in reality I dont see it going any further emotionally than that.

Does that make me shallow? heh

If it hadn't been for the panty shot, I might have tried to make the claim to be you, dear. Although, I think your cup size is a bit bigger than mine.

One rule for us, for you another
Do unto yourself as you see fit for your brother
Is that not within your realm of understanding?
A fifty second capacity of mind, too demanding?
Well then poor unfortunate you
There are a myriad of things that you can do
Like pick up a pen and paper or go talk to a friend
The history of the future
No violence or revenge

Your shame is never...ending
Just one psychological drama after another
You are guilty and how you ever entered into this life
God only knows, the infinite complexities of love

Everything had calmed down here and we were back to the previous fun and reasonable intelligence that I loved about the LPSG.

Then, Madame Z sneaked up onto our porch and lit a large sack full of dog shit.

Then, Freddie saw that the fire was going out, so he pissed some lighter fluid on it.

It's going to stink around here for a little while longer.......

1) Yes, some are hooked on the drama aspects. Unfortunately, even those of us who don't want the drama sometimes have it thrown in our faces.

2) I guess for those who are into drama, it does make the site more interesting.

3) It is probably neither constructive nor destructive, most of the time, if it is contained between those who enjoy it. When it is foisted off on the entire board, it is most definitely destructive.

4) We can expect a thread to remain respectful and polite, but as we all know, it is easy to have your expectations shattered.

I don't have nearly enough time to read through every single post on this board, every single day. When I log on, I click the "new posts" button, and skim through the topics. If one interests me, I click on it to read it. If it does not interest me, I simply pass it by. On the topics I think have been "done to death," I simply pass them by. I have no temptation whatsoever to go into those threads and tell everyone else "that's been done to death, just drop it." The logic in that just totally eludes me. I have paid my membership fees, and it is exceptionally frustrating to have someone do that to me in the threads in which I DO have an interest, to me it just seems to be troll behavior. Yes, I'm ready for the dramas to end.

Your humor here is funny. No offense taken.
