No they are different. A stand-in for film and television is a person who substitutes for the actor before filming, for technical purposes such as lighting and camera setup. Stand-ins are distinguished from body doubles, who replace actors on camera from behind, in makeup, or during dangerous stunts. Stand-ins do not appear on camera.(This is according to Google)

No, it's only Daniel and Drew's characters. The book is really small so it can't focus on any other characters. Cotter in the book is quite a small character, he is there for like 3 pages. If Luca sticks to the book Cotter will get a maximum of 5 minutes of screen time and I don't think Frances is going all the way to Italy for basically a Cameo in the film. I'm guessing they'll have to expand some characters
It's set in the 1940s and he's supposed to be from the military so his hairstyle won't make historical sense. He did however start growing it out this year so I don't know maybe Luca is taking creative liberties
