I'd like to get a tattoo but can't decide what to have done.

Post links/pics of what you'd consider to be dumb tattoos that people laugh at and the kind of tattoos that are cool/awesome - that make people think I wish I'd thought of that.

I think any tribal armband-type tattoo that doesn't actually connect all the way around the arm is dumb as hell. Chalk Chinese letters up to that because "justice" or "the boss!" really might mean "cheap sushi 2 for one dollar," "egg drop soup," "stupid Americans."

I don't think I've ever seen a tattoo that I liked. I think that most of them are silly, or at best I'm apathetic about them.

Even this one, I like the concept and execution, but not the subject. (Can one like a tattoo only in theory, not in practice?) I like how it's a cohesive whole. (I particularly dislike when someone has several small disparate tattoos scattered across their body with no common theme.) I like how the framing matches the contours of the body, I think the B/W waves are interesting, I like the contrast of the color with the B/W, (and I like the cute girl) but have no idea why one would invest the time and money in a bigass carp.

Hoping to eventually see a tattoo I really like ...

I thought it was a Koi, not a carp. I don't like the black Kelp it should be green to complete the underwater look.

All koi are carp, but not all carp are koi. Since I don't know the details of the fishy in question, I went with the more general description.

I suppose, though, that since people only get tattoos of koi and never of carp, that it must be a koi.

Thanks for pointing out that the black background is kelp. I never saw that; I thought they were stylized waves. (Mountain boy, not ocean boy.)

I would like to have a tatoo, a phrase from ''The little prince'' it's: On ne voit bien qu'avec le coeur, l'essentiel est invisible pour les yeux" (One sees clearly only with the heart. Anything essential is invisible to the eyes). But it's a bit too long lol

I'm not one for tattoos (i don't think they would suit my skin). But i have two mates who have very silly tattoos. One has the slimer/ghostbusters logo on his shoulder. And the other has a uk no entry sign on his buttock (a red circle with a horizontal white line around the middle). My two favorite g've seen on the net are a stick man pushing a lawn mower on someones pubes, and the other is simply an arrow with 'this way up' written on a cock. You can probably find it on google.
