Yeah, to each his own. And that’s his life but yeah, never imagined he’d finish being in the military.

It's a commitment, you can't just say "my bad", rip up your papers and walk away. There are ways to separate from the military early, but many of those options aren't something you, as a recruit, can request.

When you sign up, you sign up for a predetermined amount of time. Typically between 2 to 6 years. Depends on the branch and other factors.

Gearing up to dropping out of this as well perhaps. Lost its novelty and not enough quick, narcissistic supply. Trouble with him and other sugarboys is when you've first crossed that boundary into digital or physical prostitution land where life's normal laws of gravity, in and output, gratification and consequence are dispensed there's usually no turning back.

All branches you sign an 8 year contact.
Most are 4 years active duty, and 4 years inactive reserves.
Once you sign up, you are stuck until you get kicked out or finish your contract.
